Histories of Exhibition Design in the Museum: Makers, Process, and Practice offers a new model for understanding exhibition design in museums as a human and material process. Son escritos que constituyen un momento central para el neoconcretismo en general, así como, en particular, para comprender el pasaje de la bidimensionalidad a la expansión en el espacio, tanto en su obra como en su pensamiento. Nunca en Argentina (ni tampoco en Brasil) este conjunto había sido tan clara y específicamente agrupado en un volumen único alrededor de ese período. Muchas de sus partes se encontraban aún inéditas hasta hace poco tiempo y otras se habían divulgado individualmente o diluidas en distintas publicaciones. Pero además de implicar un momento de gran novedad en el desarrollo individual de este gran artista, lo son también en relación con la época y, en particular, con nuestro continente. Fue un momento de gran despliegue material, de un nuevo uso de los medios y los modos de crear y exponer arte, de enorme interacción entre intelectuales y artistas, de diálogos con las ideas del movimiento hippie y también del último estertor del Estado de bienestar antes de su brutal caída frente al neoliberalismo impuesto, en esta parte del planeta, con violencia, terror y gobiernos dictatoriales. Frente a eso, la definición del arte como un "ejercicio experimental de la libertad", acuñada por Mário Pedrosa (el crítico de arte brasileño más relevante de la segunda mitad del siglo XX, muy cercano a la obra de Oiticica) cobra una relevancia mayúscula. La experimentación que Oiticica realizó paralelamente a la escritura de estos textos dejó una marca indeleble en las artes visuales. This open access book focuses on a particular but significant topic in the social sciences: the concepts of “footprint” and “trace”. It associates these concepts with hotly debated topics such as surveillance capitalism and knowledge society.
