Challenges And Strategies In Teaching Linear Algebra written by Sepideh Stewart and has been published by Springer this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2018-02-01 with Education categories.
This book originated from a Discussion Group (Teaching Linear Algebra) that was held at the 13th International Conference on Mathematics Education (ICME-13). The aim was to consider and highlight current efforts regarding research and instruction on teaching and learning linear algebra from around the world, and to spark new collaborations. As the outcome of the two-day discussion at ICME-13, this book focuses on the pedagogy of linear algebra with a particular emphasis on tasks that are productive for learning. The main themes addressed include: theoretical perspectives on the teaching and learning of linear algebra; empirical analyses related to learning particular content in linear algebra; the use of technology and dynamic geometry software; and pedagogical discussions of challenging linear algebra tasks. Drawing on the expertise of mathematics education researchers and research mathematicians with experience in teaching linear algebra, this book gathers work from nine countries: Austria, Germany, Israel, Ireland, Mexico, Slovenia, Turkey, the USA and Zimbabwe.

Elementary Linear Algebra 10th edition gives an elementary treatment of linear algebra that is suitable for a first course for undergraduate students. The aim is to present the fundamentals of linear algebra in the clearest possible way; pedagogy is the main consideration. Calculus is not a prerequisite, but there are clearly labeled exercises and examples (which can be omitted without loss of continuity) for students who have studied calculus. Technology also is not required, but for those who would like to use MATLAB, Maple, or Mathematica, or calculators with linear algebra capabilities, exercises are included at the ends of chapters that allow for further exploration using those tools.

How To Solve Large Linear Systems written by Aleksa Srdanov and has been published by Universal-Publishers this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2019-12-01 with Mathematics categories.
Solving the linear equation system n x n can also be a problem for a computer, even when the number of equations and unknowns is relatively small (a few hundred). All existing methods are burdened by at least one of the following problems: 1) Complexity of computation expressed through the number of operations required to be done to obtaining solution; 2) Unrestricted growth of the size of the intermediate result, which causes overflow and underflow problems; 3) Changing the value of some coefficients in the input system, which causes the instability of the solution; 4) Require certain conditions for convergence, etc. In this paper an approximate and exact methods for solving a system of linear equations with an arbitrary number of equations and the same number of unknowns is presented. All the mentioned problems can be avoided by the proposed methods. It is possible to define an algorithm that does not solve the system of equations in the usual mathematical way, but still finds its exact solution in the exact number of steps already defined. The methods consist of simple computations that are not cumulative. At the same time, the number of operations is acceptable even for a relatively large number of equations and unknowns. In addition, the algorithms allows the process to start from an arbitrary initial n-tuple and always leads to the exact solution if it exists.
