El título Elementos de control ambiental en la arquitectura docente. Brasil, Chile y México, corresponde al proyecto de investigación financiado por el Ministerio de Ciencia e Innovación, dentro del Programa nacional 2007-2010 titulado: Identificación, análisis y desarrollo de los componentes medioambientales del Movimiento Moderno en la arquitectura escolar en Brasil, Chile y México. Este proyecto de investigación partía de la premisa de que las capacidades medioambientales de cualquier edificio se encuentran implícitas en su arquitectura, en la manera como se ha planificado el edificio, en como este planeamiento ha tenido en cuenta las solicitaciones ambientales tales como la temperatura y sus variaciones estacionales, régimen de lluvias, humedad ambiente, corrientes de aire, orientación solar y, en función de estas solicitaciones, determinada arquitectura responde amortiguando y/o aprovechando sus efectos en función del grado de confort que se desea.
