El español en su historia. Textos y contextos es un instrumento útil para un primer acercamiento a la diacronía del español, ya que ofrece una panorámica general de las dos perspectivas con las que cabe acercarse a la historia de una lengua: la llamada historia externa y la historia interna o gramática histórica.
