Maarten is elf jaar als de Tweede Wereldoorlog uitbreekt. Als NSB-kind is hij het mikpunt van pesterijen. Wilma Geldof is sinds 2010 fulltime schrijver, columnist en schrijfdocent bij onder meer schrijfschool ScriptPlus. Voor Elke dag een druppel gif deed ze grondig onderzoek en interviewde ze twee mannen van nu 84 en 85 jaar oud, voormalig leerlingen van de Reichsschule in Valkenburg. Het resultaat is een aangrijpend portret van een overtuigd nsb-kind dat de pech had op te groeien in het verkeerde gezin op het verkeerde moment.
