Ellen White’s two thousand visions, revered by her twenty million disciples, were doctrinally inspired by William Miller, who fathered the largest millennial movement in US history. He and Samuel Snow, during the movement’s climax, the “Midnight Cry,” predicted Christ’s Second Coming for exactly October 22, 1844, on the basis of fifteen proof-texts. Ellen was twelve, suffering from severe brain trauma and the conviction that she was hell-bound, when Miller converted her. By sixteen she became convicted that she was having divine dreams and visions confirming Miller’s prophetic role and message. When Miller’s predictions failed and he repudiated his own predictions, Ellen announced that God had commanded her to endorse Miller’s failed “Midnight Cry” as divinely inspired, and her authority replaced Miller’s in the “shut-door” faction of ex-Millerites who evolved into the Seventh-day Adventist church. Miller claimed that his dogmas were the result of merely allowing the Bible to interpret itself and that his method was literal commonsense. White seconded this claim and said God’s angels routinely guided Miller’s interpretations. However, not only were his interpretations falsified, but examination reveals them to be farfetched allegorical treatments of parables. Nonetheless, White’s visions and SDA theology still retain many of Miller’s falsified predictions.

“Beautifully written book which will pull at your heartstrings.” – Reviewer A gut-wrenching story of discrimination, injustice, and the fight to free a man unfairly sentenced. Born into poverty in a crime-ridden town and unaware of his Ojibwe heritage, John Eric Aslin’s earliest memories are of a harrowing childhood rife with abuse. This troubling upbringing led him to an adolescence full of crime, when at 21 he was sentenced to life in prison for an accidental death. 36 years later, he’s still behind bars, and almost a senior citizen. This heart-breaking account explores the life of John Aslin, painting a poignant and eye-opening picture of the struggles he faced during his upbringing, and the unfortunate hardships that led him to crime. Intertwining gritty, real-life facts with artful prose and a gripping narrative, The Nine Lives of John Aslin shares the story of Michigan’s longest-serving nonviolent offender, spanning multiple generations to provide a thought-provoking look at inter-generational trauma and the cycle of families trapped in poverty. This book stands as a testament to the bigotry and discrimination behind John Aslin’s sentencing, echoing the long-lasting unfair treatment of the Ojibwe Nation and its people. It seeks to touch the hearts of readers and raise awareness of little-known injustice. The Nine Lives of John Aslin is an enlightening read for anyone who wants to learn more about American history, the treatment of First Nation people, and the dark history of state persecution. Help uncover John Aslin’s story and join the fight for justice.

Mrs. E.G. White, the prophetess, leader, and chief founder of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, claimed to be divinely inspired by God the same as were the prophets of the Bible. Every line she wrote, whether in articles, letters, testimonies, or books, she claimed was dictated to her by the Holy Ghost, and hence must be infallible. These claims are subject to fair investigation. Her people accept and defend these claims strongly. Her writings are read in their churches, taught in their schools, and preached by their ministers the same as the Holy Scriptures. Their church stands or falls with her claims. From reading the church's books about her, one would never know that she ever made a mistake, plagiarized, practiced deception, or wrote alleged inspired writings which had to be suppressed. The public has a right to know the other side of the life of Mrs. White.
