When did churches start to appear more empty than full - and why? The very physicality of largely empty churches and chapels in Britain plays a powerful role in popular perceptions of 'religion'. Empty churches are frequently cited in the media as evidence of large scale religious decline. The 'Empty' Church Revisited presents a systematic account of British churchgoing patterns over the last two hundred years, uncovering the factors and the statistics behind the considerable process of decline in church attendence. Dispelling as myth the commonly held views that the process of secularization in British culture has led to the decline in churchgoing and resulted in the predominantly empty churches of today, Gill points to physical factors, economics and issues of social space to shed new light on the origins of empty churches. This thoroughly updated edition of Robin Gill's earlier work, The Myth of the Empty Church, presents new data throughout to explore afresh the paradox of church building activity in a context of decline, the patterns of urbanisation followed by sub-urbanisation affecting churches, changes in patterns of worship, and changes within the sociology of religion in the last decade.

Actions have consequences. Since the 1960s many churches have been deconsecrated, sold and turned into commercial use. Did the post - apostolic church follow the easy Broadway or the narrow and difficult way that leads to life? That Jesus died for our past, present and future sins is not the narrow and difficult way but the easy way that leads to moral decline. The United States has produced great preachers. There was Billy Sunday, Dwight L Moody, Evelyn Wyatt, Rex Humbard, Oral Roberts, Robert Schuler and Billy Graham. They did their best but the world was better when they started preaching than when they passed away. The same will be said about the current batch of preachers. This is not prophecy; it is ongoing reality. The moral decline will continue because the Imperial Church did not fully implement the Great Commission. Consequently, in 2,000 years, the church has done what the Mother Church of Jews and Gentiles would not have done. Because of the dissonance between the Gospel of Jesus Christ and the practice thereof, disaffected Christians leave and their churches are sold. The moral decline can be controlled or reversed. Learn about: Who opened the Pandora’s box. The church Establishment: Regent or Executor? A Moratorium on the Epistles. The Deer in the Jungle. A Tale of two faith Traditions. Christianity for Dummies. Prayers for what? The case for cultural Populism. Capitalism, Culture and Empty Pews. War and Peace. When Pastors Retire. This is a must read before leaving this world.

**Secrets of the Abandoned** takes you on a fascinating journey into the forgotten and abandoned places of the world. From crumbling asylums to deserted schools, from empty churches to derelict factories, this book explores the eerie beauty and haunting history of these forsaken sites. Abandoned asylums, once filled with the echoes of tormented souls, now stand silent and empty, their walls whispering tales of forgotten lives. Forgotten hospitals, once bustling with the sounds of healing, now lie desolate, their medical equipment gathering dust. Deserted schools, once filled with the laughter of children, now echo with the footsteps of urban explorers. Empty churches, once hallowed ground, now stand vacant, their stained-glass windows shattered and their pews empty. Derelict factories, once the engines of industry, now lie idle, their rusting machinery a testament to a bygone era. Abandoned prisons, once filled with the sounds of clanging cell doors, now stand silent and empty, their inmates long gone. Forsaken mines, once bustling with activity, now lie dormant, their tunnels dark and foreboding. Ghost towns, once thriving communities, now stand empty, their buildings crumbling and their streets deserted. Sunken ships, once proud vessels sailing the seas, now lie entombed in the depths, their secrets hidden beneath the waves. Lost civilizations, once great and powerful, now lie buried beneath the sands of time, their stories waiting to be uncovered. **Secrets of the Abandoned** is a captivating exploration of these abandoned places, revealing their hidden beauty and tragic histories. It is a journey into the past, a glimpse into the lives of those who once inhabited these spaces, and a reminder of the impermanence of all things. Civilizations of great diversity have succeeded each other or co-existed in Eastern Turkey, and most of them have left monuments of high quality. Hittite, Urartian, Hellenistic, Roman, Syrian, Byzantine, Armenian, Arab, Seljuk and Ottoman, their remains are all represented in the region. These include some of the most important sites in Near Eastern archaeology, in regions in and near the heartland of the Hittite and Urartian cultures. The Hellenistic cities reflect the introduction of a new civilization, and the Roman and Byzantine empires included all or part of the region, with the prosperous feudal states of Georgia and Armenia on their borders. Besides the Byzantine, three great East Christian monastic traditions, Syrian, Georgian and Armenian, flourished here from the late fourth century onwards, and their monuments have left a permanent mark on the landscape. The Seljuk invasion, followed by the more recent period of Ottoman rule, led to the imposition of a new culture on the region, and its reflection in the monuments. Some of the finest Seljuk buildings are in Eastern Turkey, and the buildings of the Turkish states east of the Seljuk empire form much of the early history of Turkish architecture. The independent Greek empire of Trebizond and two of the four Crusader states lay in Eastern Turkey. The lands of the empires and the smaller medieval states were heavily fortified, and their castles and other fortifications are now spread over the region. The cultural diversity of its inheritance has made Eastern Turkey one of the most fascinating regions for archaeological and art-historical research. These four volumes provide the first comprehensive guide to all of the important historical sites of the region, the result of eight years of travel and research. The monuments are dealt with by geographical location, including a full description of each site, and details on how it can be reached. In the case of the more important monuments, a full bibliography of earlier work is provided. The ample provision of photographs and plans enhances the value of the author's detailed descriptions.

The nones are an infamously difficult subsection to understand and there is a lot of false information on them. Glenn Stanton believes the nones story has become overblown and has become "a thing" due to curiosity and repetition of their supposed irreligiosity.
