La cultura de la paz es una obra literaria inédita de carácter formativo sobre la cultura de paz. En general, la formación de la cultura y, en particular, la cultura de paz, es una de las necesidades más urgentes del mundo entero. Colombia ha permanecido en pie de guerra desde que fue descubierta por los españoles hasta nuestros días, y todos los procesos de paz han fracasado. Curiosamente, cuando el proceso de paz fue sometido a plebiscito, recibió el voto negativo de los colombianos. En días pasados, ante la cantidad de casos aberrantes del comportamiento sexual de monjas y sacerdotes, el papa citó de urgencia el congreso de sus cardenales para resolver el problema de la paternidad responsable de los religiosos, pues, en caso de reconocer sus hijos y dedicarse a la formación de los mismos, tendrían que renunciar a su condición de sacerdotes. Es claro que, en tres días, no podían resolver el problema del celibato, ni mucho menos el de la fiebre de homosexualismo entre ellos mismos, de abuso de menores y del ataque sexual a la feligresía. Hubo consenso en manifestar que no se podía seguir encubriendo este tipo de conducta. Lo anterior ilustra el problema que encara la obra que se presenta. El autor ha querido aprovechar su propia experiencia, la experiencia de otros y, sobre todo, los testimonios de la Biblia, libro que sirve de fundamento a musulmanes, católicos y protestantes, para propiciar, en la sociedad, un cambio en el estilo de vida y, en la juventud, la formación de la cultura de la paz. En la obra, la palabra clave es la verdad. Se trata de utilizar la verdad como el camino para liberarse de los vicios y, así, acceder a una paz auténtica y a una verdadera vida. Precisamente por eso se critica la actitud de políticos y religiosos, que utilizan la mentira para engañar a su clientela, pues, para ellos lo importante no es la verdad, sino guardar las apariencias. Es, pues, una obra de no ficción, dirigida principalmente al sector de la educación y de la cultura, donde los principales beneficiarios serían los estudiantes en proceso de formación, particularmente los adolescentes que se aprestan a enfrentar una existencia inhóspita llena de necesidades y sembrada de dolor por donde quiera que se le mire.
