Did you know that the Bible calls us to encourage each other and build each other up?-that it's a clear directive, not a suggestion or a request? Living this way does not come naturally, however, and can seem like a foreign concept in today's world. As a result, many of us may want to live as encouragers but do not know where to start. Author Christine Sponsler is here to shed some light on the topic, providing an in-depth look at the Lord's instructions to believers in 1 Thessalonians 5:11 and discussing in practical terms what it looks like to encourage each other and how we can implement this in our daily lives.Encouragement Takes Courage: Building Each Other Up in Him by Christine C Sponsler is an inspiring book about this much-needed topic. Many people find it far easier to spout off a discouraging comment that will tear someone down than to say something encouraging that will build someone up, but as believers, we are called to have the courage to take a different path, even when it's not easy. Throughout the book, Christine targets many different facets of living as an encourager, including taming the tongue, the importance of daily devotions, and parental encouragement, giving real-life examples of how readers can apply each to their daily lives. If you are ready to move into a season of being used by God to build others up each day, come along on the journey-this book is for you!

Take Courage is a collection of essays, written by pastors and professors, about the care and cure of souls in the 21st century. As spiritual physicians, pastors are called to diagnose and treat all those suffering with the disease of sin. This noble task requires much from these undershepherds who are placed over Christ's flock. Yet the Good Shepherd himself has provided the effective tools of this healing art: the life-giving word and sacraments. Pastors, then, specialize in applying the medicine of forgiveness and bringing comfort to broken consciences. Collectively, these essays teach and expound upon this theme. This helpful book honors the 45 years of faithful service given by one such undershepherd, Harold L. Senkbeil. As a pastor, seminary professor, author, speaker, husband, father, and the executive director of DOXOLOGY, Senkbeil has consistently provided competent treatment for both laity and pastors by distributing the forgiveness won by Jesus on the cross.

"These can seem like hopeless times. To faithful Christians, life can feel like everything is against them. But precisely in these hopeless times, Christians hear an other-worldly comfort in the eternal promise of Jesus: "Take courage; I have overcome the world" (John 16:33). In these brief chapters Matthew C. Harrison offers words of encouragement that have sustained him throughout these hopeless times: Take courage. Jesus, who has overcome the world, is for you, for your good. In Him is courage"--

The Power Of Encouragement written by Richard G. Aanonsen and has been published by Outskirts Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2014-09-24 with Family & Relationships categories.

From the very beginning, THE POWER OF ENCOURAGEMENT seizes the reader's curiosity through the sub-title, "How to Give Away Courage." That statement immediately motivates the reader to ask, "How can you give away courage?" and therefore, the reader is hooked, off on an adventure to discover the answer to that and many other queries. Early on, the reader is also alerted that this book is based on Scripture, as demonstrated by a quotation, "How delightful is a timely word." The Prologue prepares the reader for one of the forceful themes of the book: "Few people, if any, have been encouraged by toxic, negative, complaining people, particularly Christians." The first two, short sentences in Chapter 1 summarize the book: "Encouragement builds up. Discouragement tears down." Then the reader will discover the answer about courage: "We give others the courage to do, to try, or to keep on." The author provides personal, down-to-earth examples out of his own life, his wife's life and from counseling experience. These stories bring concepts down to where "the rubber hits the road" of life. With the reassuring style of a seasoned counselor, the author provides guidance to help the reader learn skills in applying four elements of encouragement. They are: Unconditional Love, Understanding, Conveying Authenticity and Expressing Specificity. In the chapter titled Unconditional Love, the author says that the importance of acceptance is key to establishing a basis for encouragement. "It makes no difference to me who you are, where you have come from, or what you have done!" "Understanding promotes encouragement, but misunderstanding stifles it" is central to the chapter on Understanding. The author asserts that the phrase "I understand," spoken in sincerity, is useful to influence change in relationships. The first sentence in the chapter of Conveying Authenticity is "Nobody likes a phony." Authenticity means "Being the same in fact and appearance." The author claims it is infeasible

Soul Fuel written by Bear Grylls and has been published by Hachette UK this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2019-07-25 with Religion categories.

Bestselling author Bear Grylls has survived a free-fall parachute accident that left him with a broken back, possibly unable to walk again; falling down a mountain in the Rockies, severing a finger in the Vietnam jungle, a broken shoulder in Antarctica. He passed the gruelling training to join the SAS, crossed the North Atlantic in an open inflatable boat, and held the highest ever open-air formal dinner party, in a balloon at 25,000 feet. But the hardest thing he has ever had to face, he says, is the death of his father. It was then, age 25, that he found what he describes in an interview with the Telegraph as 'a really lovely quiet faith that has been a powerful thing in our lives'. As he wrote in GQ magazine, 'Faith doesn't mean you have to be especially "religious". But, in a nutshell, my faith tells me that I am known, that I am secure and that I am loved - regardless of the storms I may find myself in from time to time, regardless of how often I fall and fail.' For the first time, in this open, brave and honest book, Bear reveals the inspiration that helps him to stand strong and find peace each day. These daily readings - exploring themes of friendships, failure, courage, risk, and much more - show us all how to face each day with purpose and power. 'Be brave. Embrace faith wherever you may find it. You have nothing to lose and everything to gain.'
