As high-tech engineering organizations learn to do more with less, they are relying more and more on the efforts of individual designers and small design teams. Combined with this trend is the growing popularity of systems engineering techniques to tackle ever increasing complex system designs. This book empowers small teams with systems engineering techniques that once were the exclusive domain of large organizations employing hundreds of engineers to develop complex, tightly integrated systems designs. This timely resource explains how engineers leading a small design team can use systems thinking to manage and optimize design and development, as well as how to become effective leaders of a small team.

The study of methodology, or the ways in which research is conducted, is known as "methodology." Theoretical analysis of conventions and methods underlying a certain field of study. It often includes things like the paradigm, theoretical model, stages, and quantitative and qualitative methods. Since the goal of a methodology is not to set solutions, it is distinct from a method. It instead provides the theoretical basis for knowing which technique, set of methods, or best practises may be applied to a given circumstance, for instance, to compute a certain result. Research is often discussed these days, both within and outside of universities. Every year, a plethora of research studies are started and undertaken. However, research methodology, a crucial aspect of the research process, is often overlooked. Because of this, many scientific works, especially those in the social sciences, resort to excessive paraphrasing and citations. Consequently, a lot of studies wind up being pointless. It is important to highlight that the quality, not the amount, of research is what matters most when it comes to planning and development. This book was written with two goals in mind: I to help researchers of all stripes create effective research methodologies, and (ii) to familiarise them with the finer points of using a variety of research-based approaches. The publication of this book is a small but sincere attempt to contribute to the advancement of both exploratory and outcome-focused research.

This new volume, Information Security Management Systems: A Novel Framework and Software as a Tool for Compliance with Information Security Standard, looks at information security management system standards, risk management associated with information security, and information security awareness within an organization. The authors aim to improve the overall ability of organizations to participate, forecast, and actively assess their information security circumstances. It is important to note that securing and keeping information from parties who do not have authorization to access such information is an extremely important issue. To address this issue, it is essential for an organization to implement an ISMS standard such as ISO 27001 to address the issue comprehensively. The authors of this new volume have constructed a novel security framework (ISF) and subsequently used this framework to develop software called Integrated Solution Modeling (ISM), a semi-automated system that will greatly help organizations comply with ISO 27001 faster and cheaper than other existing methods. In addition, ISM does not only help organizations to assess their information security compliance with ISO 27001, but it can also be used as a monitoring tool, helping organizations monitor the security statuses of their information resources as well as monitor potential threats. ISM is developed to provide solutions to solve obstacles, difficulties, and expected challenges associated with literacy and governance of ISO 27001. It also functions to assess the RISC level of organizations towards compliance with ISO 27001. The information provide here will act as blueprints for managing information security within business organizations. It will allow users to compare and benchmark their own processes and practices against these results shown and come up with new, critical insights to aid them in information security standard (ISO 27001) adoption.
