We start off this study with the words of Jesus about this narrow gate. They are words the church does not want to hear in this modern age of political correctness. But we really need to consider the implications.”You can enter God’s Kingdom only through the narrow gate. The highway to hell is broad, and its gate is wide for the many who choose that way. But the gateway to life is very narrow and the road is difficult, and only a few ever find it.” [Matthew 7:13–14 NLT] We must start with the narrowness. Many people are made nervous by this. It is obvious that most pastors and priests are. How can you build a church by telling the people things like this? It is not good to talk about exclusiveness. This is certainly part of the narrowness of the gate. In modern America this is where we get into trouble very quickly from the PC media police.Jesus could not have made it more clear. This aspect of the narrowness is made clear by many things he said. If you are into the words of Jesus typeset in red ink—these are in red. He lays it out boldly—in a way that cannot be ignored.”Yes, I am the gate. Those who come in through me will be saved.” [John 10:9 NLT]However, it is obvious to us all that today many local church pastors have trouble saying that Jesus is the gate, the door to the life abundant. It is commonly not preached because the whole approach sounds a bit narrow-minded. But it is much stronger than that. As you will see in this book, many powerful, active church members will find themselves outside with no way to enter heaven. You need to read this book.

“Enter through the narrow gate; for the gate is wide and the road is easy that leads to destruction, and there are many who take it. For the gate is narrow and the road is hard that leads to life, and there few who find it.” (Matthew 7:13–14) If life is a portal to paradise, then how we get there should be everyone’s concern. Our Christian call is to know, love, and serve God in this world that we may be happy with him in heaven. In our day-to-day lives, this means finding and keeping to the narrow way that Jesus describes as the path to heaven. Fortunately, we have a vast collection of Christian classics to help us on our way, and one of the greatest is Saint Benedict’s Rule. In Enter the Narrow Gate: Saint Benedict’s Steps to Christian Maturity, Susan Muto draws from Saint Benedict’s twelve steps to humility, showing how these steps give us a road map to the narrow way. Rooted in timeless spiritual principles, this book offers guidance and encouragement to find and stay on the narrow path, no matter how attractive the easy road may seem. The choices we make each day have eternal ramifications, and there can be no compromise between the narrow way and the easy road. Ultimately, each of us must face — and answer — this all-important question: Are we willing to enter through the narrow gate and follow the narrow way all the way to heaven? ABOUT THE AUTHOR Susan Muto, Ph.D., is executive director of the Epiphany Association and dean of the Epiphany Academy of Formative Spirituality. She holds a doctorate in English literature from the University of Pittsburgh. Dr. Muto has been teaching the literature of ancient, medieval, and modern spirituality for over forty years. She has written more than thirty books, and in 2014 she received the Aggiornamento Award presented by the Catholic Library Association in recognition of an outstanding contribution to the ministry of renewal modeled by Pope St. John XXIII.

Enter Through The Narrow Gate written by Danny Clifford and has been published by this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2021-05-14 with categories.

This book begins with a simple childhood memory about a lesson in the importance of blind obedience as opposed to having to know why our parents made rules for us, one to which every reader can relate. From there, the expanded theme becomes more than evident: Most Christians today don't think deeply enough about their choices while they are alive on Earth and where they might lead us to in eternity. The central image in the book is from Matthew 7:13-14 and John 10:9. Jesus tells His listeners there, "Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it." "I am the gate; whoever enters through me will be saved. They will come in and go out, and find pasture." The thing is that both gates lead to heaven. Most Christians would ask, "What, then, is the difference which gate we go through? If we attend church one day a week and lead a life that meets the basic requirements of the outward trappings of a religious person ("Don't murder anyone, and don't steal from people") what's the big deal?" Author Danny Clifford's insight into this teaching is profound. Some people's assurance of salvation is a delusion. To enter the narrow gate of the kingdom we must knock, that is, request that God make us citizens of his kingdom. The difficulty of Jesus' way includes embracing by repentance both persecution and the ethics of the kingdom taught in the Sermon on the Mount. (Matthew 5:10-12)Jesus says that the wide gate is the "easy" way, resting on one's laurels, seeking prosperity for themselves, and not at all willing to make any sacrifices. This book makes us realize that Jesus intends for his words to jar us from complacency, to consider the genuineness of our commitment to him. A major revelation for this Editor was when Author Clifford insists that God can't complete His plan for salvation on Earth without the help of ordinary human beings. We are the instruments and the agents of His power. The illustrations in this book are beautiful - sometimes startlingly so - and exquisite in detail. They add to and perfectly complement Mr. Clifford's patient and insightful interpretations of the various Scripture passages that convey the essential messages in Enter Through the Narrow Gate. In todays post-Christian culture of liberalism, it is easy to lose sight of the fact that to be Christian means to be called out of the world and be set aside unto the Lord Jesus Christ. As we approach the end of the age and of the world, as we know it, the Lord continues to give numerous heavenly visitations and dreams about him to take Christians home in what we call the rapture of the church. One recurring theme in many of these supposedly spiritual experiences is the number of professing Christians that could be going to hell. Well, it is easy to dismiss these as figments of hallucinations and fertile imaginations gone wild. But a cursory glance at the church scene clearly shows that something is not right with many of professing believers. This book seeks to jolt Christians into rediscovering their first love and awake from their slumber to ensure that their lives match their profession. Christianity is one of the most liberal of all religions. In Christian theology, it is God who takes the initiative to reconcile mankind to himself (John 3:16). He make total and full provision for man to receive forgiveness of sins and come into a personal relationship with God without any expenditure or effort on his/her part. In that sense, Christianity is an easy religion. That is the essence of grace. But that could be deceptive because it is easy for the Christian adherent to fall into the false notion that grace means anything goes. This Christian discipleship book attempts to wake Christians to the fact that like an athlete, there is a right lifestyle and a way to compete that will guarantee you a medal at the Olympics and a wrong lifestyle and a way to compete that could lead to disqualification and a loss of potential medal. Much illustration is made of the Old Testament saints who started their journey with the Lord with optimistic enthusiasm but whose faith was made shipwreck along the way. This is true of the Israelites who were delivered from Egyptian bondage and servitude and journeyed to the Promised Land, but the text says, With most of them, God was not well pleased, and their bodies were scattered in the wilderness. The text clearly says these experiences were written as warnings and examples to us because if we make the same mistakes they did, a similar fate awaits us (1 Corinthians 10:113). Wisdom gives away what you cannot keep to gain what you cannot lose. In our day and age, the greatest snares are relational issues of unforgiveness, bitterness, and strife. We are also warned against such moral weaknesses as fornication, adultery, and other aberrant sexual behavior. The Bible clearly warns that those who practice these would not inherit the kingdom of God. This is a major theme of most of the New Testament Epistles. This book is also evangelistic because at its heart, it seeks to showcase the love of God and his eternal invitation to all mankind to be reconciled to him.

The trumpet has sounded! A warning - and a hope - are you listening? In life we have a choice between two paths. Jesus said we can walk the broad path that leads to destruction or come to Him through the narrow gate, a path that is difficult and few find. Today, nearly everyone is choosing the crowded road of the broad path, as they follow popular cultural norms, taking them further from the truth of God's word. This first work by Carole Urbas is written in a more raw, conversational style than her other works, Warfare Behind the Veil and A Voice in the Wilderness. In The Narrow Gate she writes as if reading from one of her many journals, allowing the thoughts of her heart to speak plainly, and boldly, about her desire to see the body of Christ return to holiness. Her passion for believers to return to a reverential fear of the Lord is conveyed as she takes the reader on a journey through the Beatitudes. This book study on holiness, with accompanying video links, is a call to examine our life as a believer in Jesus Christ. Are we living a sanctified life, set apart for Christ, forsaking the world? Enter in through The Narrow Gate Bible study and find out.

A teenage girl has vanished in Santa Fe. Nearby, in the Trappist monastery of St. Mary of the Snows, a beautiful young nun is stabbed to death. Father Nicholas Fortis is on sabbatical at St. Mary's, and when Lieutenant Christopher Worthy of the Detroit Police Department is flown in to help find the missing teenager, the Orthodox monk asks his friend to delve into the nun's murder as well. The two men make a perfect team: the monk's gregarious manner opens hearts and the detective's keen intuition infiltrates psyches. The Book of Matthew refers to the "narrow gate" that leads to heaven. Each of the key players in these two cases was rattling heaven's gate in a frantic and even dangerous quest for salvation. Lieutenant Sera Lacey of the Santa Fe Police, with her captivating looks and insight into the Native Americans and cultures of the Southwest, proves both a boon and a distraction for Worthy. As Father Fortis navigates the social hierarchy of the monks of St. Mary's, he begins to fear their secret agendas. Bowing to the pressure to solve both cases, the investigators let the clues lead them in opposite directions. At the end of one of those paths, Death awaits. Book one in a new detective series featuring Christopher Worthy and Father Fortis.

The Mystery of the Cross and the Narrow Gate Revealed is a search to reconcile apparent contradictions in the Bible, especially those passages pertaining to salvation. Beginning with the premise of the infallibility of the Bible, it argues that both the Reformers understanding of the atonement and their doctrine of salvation are invalid, since they are contradicted by numerous scriptures. In the end, the result of this search is a new understanding of both the atonement and salvation and the development of doctrines on these subjects, which will enable us to read canonically without seeing contradictions. Through faith and reason, a sound hermeneutic and careful exegesis, The Mystery of the Cross and the Narrow Gate uncovers the internal coherence of scripture, with the principal objective of restoring truth and bringing reform to a church that fails to grasp that the Holy Spirit is given to humankind to enable us to become holy and be made fit for the kingdom in heaven-refer www.themysteryofthecross.com.
