Depuis 2019, l’accès aux instituts de formation en soins infirmiers (IFSI) s’effectue selon deux modalités : La première est ouverte via Parcoursup, à partir d’un dossier, aux aidessoignant( e)s et auxiliaires de puériculture et pour toute évolution ou reconversion professionnelle, titulaires du bac ; La seconde s’adresse aux candidats ayant travaillé au moins 3 ans, non titulaires du bac, à partir d’un dossier auquel s’ajoute deux épreuves de sélection : une épreuve écrite : rédaction et/ou réponses à des questions dans le domaine sanitaire et social ET des calculs simples ; un entretien basé sur le dossier, pour apprécier l’expérience, le projet professionnel, les motivations, et les capacités à valoriser son expérience professionnelle. La première partie de l’ouvrage détaille les deux voies de sélection, les études et les professions, suivie de trois parties approfondies sur les épreuves : Culture générale - Calculs simples - Épreuve orale, et sur le dossier à constituer. Chaque partie s’ouvre sur les réponses à vos questions et se poursuit par l’essentiel à savoir avec des méthodes clés ; des tests et des sujets corrigés issus de sujets officiels. Conçu sur mesure selon le profil et les besoins du candidat, cet ouvrage propose des stratégies efficaces pour booster le dossier de candidature exigé pour tout candidat bachelier ou non, et réussir les épreuves pour les non-bacheliers.

La suppression officielle des concours d'entrée en IFAP et IFAS est intervenue en février 2020 et confirmée par un arrêté ministériel du 7 avril 2020.
