"Entre 2010 y 2012, Ecuador adoptó, de manera irrestricta, las Normas Internacionales de Información Financiera (NIIF), como estándar regulatorio de la contabilidad. Este evento, sin duda, removió la práctica cotidiana de los contadores, pues pasaron de un registro basado primordialmente en documentos a estimaciones razonables, que permitan presentar saldos actualizados de los elementos de los Estados Financieros. El ámbito tributario no fue ajeno al impacto de la aplicación de las NIIF, específicamente por las diferencias naturales en la estimación de las bases fiscales y el valor en los libros estimados, bajo los preceptos del valor razonable. Estas diferencias implican que parte de las obligaciones tributarias se deban cumplir de forma corriente y otras se difieran en el tiempo. En este sentido, este libro presenta, de forma sencilla pero detallada, la aplicación práctica de la Norma Internacional de Contabilidad 12 en el entorno local. En adición de las explicaciones conceptuales de rigor, los autores presentan un análisis comparativo entre las normas financieras y tributarias, a través de la identificación y explicación de las disposiciones que se complementan, y de aquellas que entran en conflicto de aplicación. Esto con la ventaja adicional de que, a partir de los temas permitidos por las normas legales, se plantean ejemplos prácticos y específicos a las normas tratadas. "
