Over the last two decades environmental hydraulics as an academic discipline has expanded considerably, caused by growing concerns over water environmental issues associated with pollution and water balance problems on regional and global scale. Triggerd primarily byill effects of polluted air, soil and water resources on living species, public concern for environmental quality has been growing during the past four decades or so.
