Joachim Lompscher (07.11.1932 - 05.02.2005) war einer der national und international bekanntesten pädagogischen Psychologen der DDR. Als einer der Mitbegründer der Pädagogischen Psychologie in der DDR und wichtiger Repräsentant der Theorie der Lerntätigkeit, die weitgehend mit seinem Namen verknüpft ist, erwarb er sich bleibende Verdienste um die pädagogische Forschung und Anerkennung seiner wissenschaftlichen Arbeit im In- und Ausland. Mit dem Ziel der Würdigung seines Lebenswerkes fand am 31.08.2005 das wissenschaftliche Symposium „Erinnerung für die Zukunft - Pädagogische Psychologie in der DDR“ in Berlin statt. Im vorliegenden Band sind die anlässlich dieses Symposiums gehaltenen Impulsreferate versammelt. Sie geben einen Überblick über die Bedeutung und den wissenschaftlichen Ertrag der Pädagogischen Psychologie in der DDR, zeigen aber auch Probleme und Grenzen der pädagogischen Forschung unter den Bedingungen staatlicher Bevormundung und Indoktrination auf. Thematisch ist der Band in drei Blöcke gegliedert, die Bezüge zu den Schaffensstationen Joachim Lompschers aufweisen. Adolf Kossakowski und Horst Kühn unternehmen aus unterschiedlichen Perspektiven den Versuch einer Bilanz der Entwicklung der Pädagogischen Psychologie der DDR in den Jahre 1949 bis 1990. Wolfgang Jantzen thematisiert aus allgemeiner und persönlicher Sicht die Wahrnehmung der Kulturhistorischen Psychologie der DDR aus der Perspektive eines Wissenschaftlers aus der Bundesrepublik Deutschland, Marianne Hedegaard und Seth Chaiklin übernehmen dies aus internationaler Perspektive, wobei hier vor allem die Arbeiten Joachim Lompschers im Zentrum stehen. Gerald Matthes und Hartmut Giest diskutieren anhand konkreter Probleme der Lernförderung, inwiefern Erkenntnisse der Pädagogischen Psychologie der DDR für die Bewältigung aktueller und zukünftiger Aufgaben nutzbringend angewandt werden können. Der Band enthält ferner eine Bibliografie Joachim Lompschers sowie einen Nachruf von Georg Rückriem und Hartmut Giest auf Joachim Lompscher.

This survey provides an overview of German meta-discourse on theories and mathematics education as a scientific discipline, from the 1970s to the 1990s. Two theory strands are offered: a semiotic view related to Peirce and Wittgenstein (presented by Willibald Dörfler), and the theory of learning activity by Joachim Lompscher (presented by Regina Bruder and Oliver Schmitt). By networking the two theoretical approaches in a case study of learning fractions, it clarifies the nature of the two theories, how they can be related to inform practice and renew TME-issues for mathematics education as a scientific discipline.
