A Note On Noise Factor Measurement written by Wave Propagation Laboratory and has been published by this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 1969 with Atmospheric radio refractivity categories.

The definition of noise factor, F, is reviewed and the mathematical bases for several methods of measuring noise factor are presented. Error analyses are given to determine: (1) the noise source temperatures, which minimize the noise factor measurement error, (2) an analytic expression for the expected error in F as measured by the CW methods, and (3) an analytic expression for the expected error in F as measured by the Y-Factor Method. A hypothetical receiver (of assumed characteristics) is used as a comparative example to elevate the errors to be expected in F as measured by the CW Method and by the Y-Factor Method. The importance of bandwidth as a criterion of receiver performance is stressed. The effect on the measured F produced by a change in receiver gain-bandwidth produced by a change in received gain-bandwidth produced by a change is receiver gain-bandwidth produce is considered briefly. A preliminary calculation of the source temperatures actually seen by the receiver input completes the report. The appendix is a procedural outline for measuring a receiver's noise factor by: (1) automatic noise factor meter (ANFM), (2) CW Method, and (3) Y-Factor Methods. This outline indicates the characteristics required of the test equipment and tells how to obtain the necessary data.

Operational Amplifier Noise written by Art Kay and has been published by Elsevier this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2012-02-23 with Technology & Engineering categories.

Arthur Kay’s exciting new publication is a must have for practicing, professional electrical engineers. This comprehensive guide shows engineers how to design amplifiers and associated electronics to minimize noise, providing tricks, rules-of-thumb, and analysis to create successful low noise circuits. Forget the classical textbook traps of equations, virtual grounds, and a lot of double-speak, the novel but educational presentation used here uses definition-by -example and straight-forward analysis. This is the ultimate reference book for engineers who don't have the time to read, since the concepts are presented in detailed pictures and then repeated in the text for those who like both. Operational amplifiers play a vital role in modern electronics design. Today, op amps serve as the interfaces between the digital world of microprocessors, microcontrollers, and other digital circuits and the analog "real world". If an analog signal must be amplified, conditioned, filtered, or converted to be used by a digital system, an op amp is almost always involved. Noise is an unwanted signal that will corrupt or distort the desired signal, and veteran engineers as well as new college graduates are often faced with a lack of experience in noise analysis for operational amplifiers. The author has created a publication that is packed with essential information, while still being accessible to all readers. Clear, definition-by-example presentation allows for immediate use of techniques introduced Tricks and rules-of-thumb, derived from author's decades of experience Extreme use of figures for rapid absorption of concepts Concise text explains the key points in all figures Accessible to all types of readers Analysis and design of low-noise circuits using op amps, including design tradeoffs for low-noise Desktop reference for designing low-noise op amp circuits for novice to experienced engineers Accurate measurement and prediction of intrinsic noise levels, using analysis by hand and SPICE simulation

The Measurement Of Noise Performance Factors written by M. G. Arthur and has been published by this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 1974 with Noise categories.

The metrology guide provides the basis for critical comparisons among seven measurement techniques for average noise factor and effective input noise temperature. The techniques that are described, discussed, and analyzed include the (1) Y-Factor, (2) 3-dB, (3) Automatic, (4) Gain Control, (5) CW, (6) Tangential, and (7) Cmparison Techniques. The analyses yield working equations and error equations by which accuracy capabilities are compared. Each technique is also analyzed for (a) frequency range for best measurement results, (b) special instrumentation requirements, (c) speed and convenience, (d) operator skill required, and (e) special measurement problems. General instrumentation requirements and practical measurement problems are discussed for the benefit of the non-expert metrologist. (Modified author abstract).
