Gas gewonnen. Doch diese Ressourcen sind nicht unbegrenzt vorhanden und ihre Gewinnung ist oft mit starken Eingriffen in die Natur verbunden. Hingegen sind die Grundlagen regenerativer Energietechniken unbegrenzt nutzbar, wie Sonnenstrahlung und Windkraft, Gezeiten oder die in den Erdschichten befindliche Wärme. Durch das zunehmende ökologische Bewusstsein, staatliche Förderungen und Einsparmöglichkeiten sind die nachhaltigen Technologien im Aufwärtstrend und vor dem Szenario der immer knapper werdenden rationellen Energieträger unausweichlich in Betracht zu ziehen. Ein Aspekt regenerativer Energietechnik sind Photovoltaik-Anlagen, die Strom erzeugen durch das Herauslösen von Elektronen aus einer Siliziumschicht, die beispielsweise mit Bor angereichert ist. Im Laufe eines Jahres entstehen durch die Sonneneinstrahlung pro m2-Erdoberfläche im Durchschnitt 1.000kWh Energie im mitteleuropäischen Raum, dies entspricht ca. 100l Öl. Dieses Beispiel soll verdeutlichen wie viel, zum größten Teil ungenutztes Potenzial, in der Sonnenenergie vorhanden ist. Neben den Vorteilen für die Umwelt, vor allem die Reduzierung des CO2-Ausstoßes existieren weitere positive Aspekte für den Besitzer einer PV-Anlage. Dazu zählen die hohen staatlichen Förderungen beim Aufbau einer Anlage und die Wertsteigerung des Gebäudes auf dem sich die Anlage befindet. Weiterhin stellt eine Photovoltaik-Anlage eine Geldanlage mit hoher Rendite dar. Weiter in die Zukunft geschaut ist man autark gegenüber den knapper werdenden Rohstoffen und statt Gewinn durch Verkauf des produzierten Stromes kommt es zu Einspareffekten, dadurch dass man nicht den teuren Strom eines Energielieferanten abnehmen muss. Zu all diesen Punkten folgen im weiteren Verlauf ausführlichere Informationen. Am Anfang der Arbeit wird auf die Energieentstehung durch Sonneneinstrahlung eingegangen, insbesondere den photoelektrischen Effekt. Im weiteren Verlauf werden die Bestandteile einer Photovoltaik-Anlage und ihre Aufbaumöglichkeiten erläutert, darauf folgt ein Kapitel welches die Finanzierung näher beleuchtet inklusive eines Tools um einen vollständigen Finanzplan zu erstellen. Im Anschluss daran werden Checklisten, die bei der Planung und dem Betrieb helfen sollen, entwickelt und erläutert. Abschließend wird eine Simulationsrechnung für ein Bauprojekt mit dem Programm PV-Sol durchgeführt und erläutert.
