It's no surprise that Candace is dreading returning to her 'real' life. When her days for the past month have been filled with the sun's caress and the smell of plumeria, it is impossible to imagine she'll be leaving that kind of magic behind. Especially when the life waiting for her holds nothing nearly as exciting as Adrian, the bartender who serves her drinks at Tiwaka's Tiki Bar and Grill. But it's not just the promise of romance that is making the thought of leaving painful. There is something peculiar and wonderful about the island. Candace feels it all around her and especially when she meets Bucky, an older man on the verge of homelessness who seems to recognize her, and a woman crying on the beach to whom she's oddly drawn. With Adrian and Bucky's help, Candace discovers the truth of why she feels so at home on that island, but, most importantly, she learns that love has no boundaries - not even those of time.

This is a book of fiction and is intended for the entertainment of the reader. The Iranian students are real, although their actual lives are not known. The reference to Bill Donovan is true. He is the attorney that negotiated the release of Gary Powers. He did become the President of a well-known university in Brooklyn, New York. All references to aircraft, pilots, and procedures are made up for the occasion. Some references may be true or correct, as the case may be, but only by accident. The reference to drones that carry people is only an extension of the idea of a spaceship. It is possible that a planet out in space somewhere is identical to that of planet Earth. There are billions if not more, planets in the universe, so who knows? It was a distinct pleasure to write about Matt, Ashley, Anna, the General, and Sir Charles Bunday. They are foremost in my imagination. My wife Margaret and our daughter Kathy helped me whenever necessary and did so with great pleasure. Thanks for reading the book. The book follows the usual procedure of no violence, no sex, and no bad language. It is accessible to readers of all ages.

The Making Of The Magnificent Seven written by Brian Hannan and has been published by McFarland this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2015-05-11 with Performing Arts categories.

The story behind The Magnificent Seven could have been a movie in itself. It had everything--actors' strike, writers' strike, Mexican government interference and a row between the screenwriters that left one removing his name from the credits, all under the lingering gloom of post-McCarthy era Hollywood. A flop on release, it later became a box office hit. This book tells the behind-the-scenes story: how Yul Brynner became the biggest independent producer in Hollywood; why John Sturges was not the first choice after Brynner surrendered the director's chair; why Sturges quit; the truth about the Mirisch Company (producers); the details of the film's botched release and unlikely redemption; the creation of Elmer Bernstein's classic score; and how internecine fighting prevented the making of the television series in 1963. Myths about Steve McQueen, his feud with Brynner and the scene-stealing antics of the cast are debunked. A close examination of the various screenplay drafts and the writers' source material--Akira Kurosawa's Seven Samurai--shows who wrote what. Extensive analysis of Sturges' directorial work is provided.

How I Escaped From Gilligan S Island written by William Froug and has been published by Popular Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2005 with Biography & Autobiography categories.

In the early 1950s writers were leaving radio en masse to try their hand at another promising medium—television. William Froug was in the thick of that exodus, a young man full of ideas in a Hollywood bursting with opportunities. In his forty-year career Froug would write and/or produce many of the shows that America has grown up with. From the drama of Playhouse 90 and the mind-bending premises of The Twilight Zone to the escapist scenarios of Adventures in Paradise, Gilligan’s Island, Bewitched, and Charlie’s Angels, Froug played a role in shaping his trade. He crossed paths with some of the memorable personalities in the industry, including Jack Benny, Lucille Ball, Agnes Moorehead, Elizabeth Montgomery, Robert Blake, Rod Serling, Gene Roddenberry, Aaron Spelling, and Sherwood Schwartz. Froug reveals a post-WWII America giddy with the success of its newest medium—yet sobered at moments by strikes and union politics, McCarthyism and anti-Semitism. It was a world of hastily written scripts, sudden firings, thwarted creativity, and fickle tastes. And yet, while clearly exasperated with many aspects of Hollywood, Froug was a man utterly in his element, his frustration with the industry ultimately eclipsed by his dedication to his craft.

Fans of the 39 Clues books will love The Key, the third entry in Michael Grant’s middle-grade Magnificent 12 series. Full of adventure and wackiness, the Magnificent 12 books are also perfect for readers of funny, action-filled series like Dan Gutman’s Genius Files. With 21 phobias, Mack MacAvoy is more of a wimpy kid than a hero, but he is on a quest to defeat the wicked—and crazy, and mean, and dangerous—Pale Queen before her three-thousand-year banishment ends. In The Key, Mack must find more of the Magnificent 12, the twelve twelve-year-olds fated to stop the queen from destroying the world, and assemble a key—a cheat sheet, really—to a magical language. Along the way, he’ll transform the Loch Ness monster into a gigantic duck, and transport the Eiffel Tower across the River Seine. The Key is another fast-paced episode in Michael Grant’s bestselling and hysterical fantasy adventure series.
