Students new to the study of EU law can find knowing what questions to ask to be as much of a challenge as answering them. This book clearly sets the scene: it explores the history and institutions of the EU, examines the interplay of its main bodies in its legislative process and illustrates the role played by the EU Courts and the importance of fundamental rights. The student is also introduced to the key principles of the internal market, in particular the free movement of goods and the free movement of workers. In addition a number of other EU policies, such as the Common Agricultural Policy, Environmental Protection and Social Policy are outlined, while a more detailed inquiry is made into European competition law. This book is an essential first port-of-call for all students of European law.

In addition, the book provides an analysis of some overarching issues, such as the impact of climate law on energy network regulation, multi-level governance and protection of human rights.

The Choice Of Legal Basis For Acts Of The European Union written by Annegret Engel and has been published by Springer this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2018-09-10 with Law categories.
This book provides the first comprehensive discussion of conflicts between legal bases in EU law. It fills an important gap in the existing literature on the choice of legal basis in EU law by analysing the structure of legal bases and the resulting legal basis litigation in the European Union, thus identifying areas of conflict produced by overlapping competences, divergent inter-institutional interests, and inconsistencies in the courts’ judgements. While certain cases have been discussed extensively in academic literature (e.g. Tobacco Advertising, ECOWAS), there has been little analysis of the general underlying criteria and principles governing the choice of legal basis on the part of European institutions. Such an analysis has, however, become necessary in order to better understand and possibly predict judicial outcomes, and to identify flaws in the current legislative framework.

Eu Law In Ireland written by Elaine Fahey and has been published by this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2010 with International and municipal law categories.
In the Irish legal order, there is a rapid increase in the amount of case law on European Union law. This book analyzes the key case laws, texts, and commentaries in a diversity of EU law-related subject areas, and it provides an up-to-date and comprehensive collection of materials on EU law. The standard published texts in EU law do not include any materials as to the Irish legal order, and research considering the operation of EU law in the national courts has frequently excluded data as to Ireland on the basis of a paucity of case law. However, in recent years, there has been a major increase in case law in this area from the Irish Superior Courts and a large increase in EU Regulations and Directives in Irish law. A collection of key case law and materials is now a timely one. A mini-schedule of relevant primary legislation and constitutional texts are included in the book, which will be of major interest to students, academics, practitioners, and government/public servants.
