**Essentials of Heat Transfer and Numerical Computation** is a comprehensive textbook that provides a complete introduction to heat transfer and numerical methods. The book is written in a clear and concise style, and it is illustrated with numerous examples and exercises. The book is divided into ten chapters, each of which covers a different aspect of heat transfer and numerical computation. The first chapter provides an introduction to the basic concepts of heat transfer, including the three modes of heat transfer (conduction, convection, and radiation) and the conservation of energy. The second chapter introduces the finite difference method, the finite element method, and the boundary element method. These methods are used to solve the governing equations of heat transfer. The third, fourth, and fifth chapters cover conduction heat transfer, convection heat transfer, and radiation heat transfer, respectively. These chapters provide a detailed analysis of the different modes of heat transfer and the factors that affect them. The sixth and seventh chapters cover phase change heat transfer and heat transfer in multi-dimensional systems, respectively. Phase change heat transfer is the heat transfer that occurs during the change of phase of a substance, such as the melting of ice or the boiling of water. Heat transfer in multi-dimensional systems is the heat transfer that occurs in systems that have more than one spatial dimension, such as heat transfer in a pipe or heat transfer in a building. The eighth, ninth, and tenth chapters cover advanced topics in heat transfer, including heat transfer in nanomaterials, heat transfer in microelectronics, and heat transfer in extreme environments. These chapters provide a glimpse of the latest research in heat transfer and the future of heat transfer technology. **Essentials of Heat Transfer and Numerical Computation** is a valuable resource for students, practitioners, and researchers in the field of heat transfer. The book can be used as a textbook for undergraduate and graduate courses in heat transfer, and it can also be used as a reference book for practicing engineers and scientists. Essential Analytic Heat Transfer written by C.Y. Wang and has been published by Springer Nature this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2024-05-20 with Science categories.
This book discusses heat transfer, which is an important topic in all physical phenomena that involve thermal energy transport. The focus is on the three major means of heat transfer: conduction, convection, and radiation. New materials, methods, and insights are presented that reflect the author’s contributions in this area. After many years of experience in teaching and research, Dr. Wang has refined many useful analytic methods to treat thermo-fluid problems. Certain physical truths can only be revealed by analysis, and this book focuses on analytic means to solve heat transfer problems, rather than numerical and experimental methods. Although computer numerical solutions are becoming quite efficient, analytical solutions are still needed for numerical accuracy. This book is written in concise and understandable terms and is useful to practicing scientists and engineers and also serves as an ideal textbook for graduate students. For best results, readers should have completedundergraduate courses in differential equations, introductory heat transfer, and elementary fluid mechanics and should know how to use simple computer library functions such as integration and matrix inversion.

The Finite Element Method In Heat Transfer Analysis written by Roland W. Lewis and has been published by John Wiley & Sons this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 1996-08-06 with Science categories.
Heat transfer analysis is a problem of major significance in a vast range of industrial applications. These extend over the fields of mechanical engineering, aeronautical engineering, chemical engineering and numerous applications in civil and electrical engineering. If one considers the heat conduction equation alone the number of practical problems amenable to solution is extensive. Expansion of the work to include features such as phase change, coupled heat and mass transfer, and thermal stress analysis provides the engineer with the capability to address a further series of key engineering problems. The complexity of practical problems is such that closed form solutions are not generally possible. The use of numerical techniques to solve such problems is therefore considered essential, and this book presents the use of the powerful finite element method in heat transfer analysis. Starting with the fundamental general heat conduction equation, the book moves on to consider the solution of linear steady state heat conduction problems, transient analyses and non-linear examples. Problems of melting and solidification are then considered at length followed by a chapter on convection. The application of heat and mass transfer to drying problems and the calculation of both thermal and shrinkage stresses conclude the book. Numerical examples are used to illustrate the basic concepts introduced. This book is the outcome of the teaching and research experience of the authors over a period of more than 20 years.
