En la actualidad, la mayoría de las sociedades están presenciando una creciente diversidad cultural y social, generada por la globalización y, particularmente, por una mayor movilidad de personas, así como los incuestionables y rápidos avances en las tecnologías de la información y comunicación. En este marco de cambios y de movimientos transnacionales, la perspectiva transcultural permite construir un mejor análisis y comprensión de los fenómenos socioculturales vinculados a la inmigración. Teniendo en cuenta estas consideraciones, el hilo conductor de este libro es los desafíos planteados por la gestión de la inmigración y la diversidad cultural, prestando una especial atención a la inmigración femenina. Paralelamente, se indaga en los marcos de políticas y paradigmas de intervención efectivos para una integración exitosa de las sociedades receptoras.El libro consta de cuatro capítulos. El primero incluye la historia de la inmigración femenina en el contexto europeo. El segundo capítulo se centra en los paradigmas o las perspectivas teóricas establecidas en torno a la realidad migratoria. El tercero contiene los modelos de integración que se han puesto en marcha por los países receptores de inmigrantes como forma de paliar o asegurar los riesgos que la convivencia de inmigrantes y autóctonos puede generar, y el cuarto capítulo, está orientado a la integración de las mujeres inmigrantes y a las políticas de desarrollo establecidas.Otro aspecto de gran relevancia, al que hacemos referencia en este libro, es la adopción del dialogo intercultural como enfoque para la integración de todas las comunidades y la cohesión social.Rachida Dalouh desarrolla su labor docente como profesora Sustituta Interina en la Universidad en Área de Métodos de Investigación y Diagnóstico en Educación. Es miembro del grupo de investigación del Plan Andaluz de Investigación HUM665 de Investigación y Evaluación en Educación Intercultural y colaboradora del Centro de Estudio de las Migraciones y las Relaciones Interculturales (CEMyRI). Su experiencia profesional está vinculada mayoritariamente con la universidad de Almería. Sus principales áreas de investigación son los estudios en educación interculturalidad, género, inmigración y métodos de investigación en educación.Encarnación Soriano Ayala es profesora del Área de Métodos de Investigación y Diagnóstico en Educación de la Universidad de Almería. Es directora del grupo de investigación del Plan Andaluz de Investigación, Desarrollo e Innovación, HUM665 Investigación y Evaluación en Educación Intercultural, e investigadora del Centro de Estudios de las Migraciones y las Relaciones Interculturales. Ha sido investigadora principal de números proyectos del Plan Nacional, autonómicos y europeos. The willingness to migrate in search of employment is in itself insufficient to compel anyone to move. The dynamics of labour mobility are heavily influenced by the opportunities perceived and the imaginaries held by both employers and regulating authorities in relation to migrant labour. This volume offers a multidisciplinary approach to the study of the structures and imaginaries underlying various forms of mobility. Based on research conducted in different geographical contexts, including the European Union, Turkey, and South Africa, and tackling the experiences and aspirations of migrants from various parts of the globe, the chapters comprised in this volume analyse labour-related mobilities from two distinct yet intertwined vantage points: the role of structures and regimes of mobility on the one hand, and aspirations as well as migrant imaginaries on the other. Migration at Work thus aims to draw cross-contextual parallels by addressing the role played by opportunities in mobilising people, how structures enable, sustain, and change different forms of mobility, and how imaginaries fuel labour migration and vice versa. In doing so, this volume also aims to tackle the interrelationships between imaginaries driving migration and shaping “regimes of mobility”, as well as how the former play out in different contexts, shaping internal and cross-border migration.
