La presente colección ha sido concebida con el objetivo de llenar un vacío en el panorama de investigaciones en torno a la traducción de Literatura Infantil y Juvenil (LIJ). Si bien en este campo los enfoques descriptivos de las Teorías Polisistémicas elaboradas por Even-Zohar (1978, 1995), Lefevere (1981, 1997) o Toury (1981, 1995) se han revelado como idóneos para el estudio del trasvase interlingüístico, se echaban de menos análisis críticos complementarios que permitiesen profundizar en aspectos evaluativos y, de esta manera, contribuyesen a controlar la calidad de las traducciones de un género cuyos destinatarios naturales son lectores en formación. Se trata de una obra abierta en cuanto a número de volúmenes y centrada en las traducciones de LIJ inglesa y alemana a las lenguas oficiales de España. Por lo que respecta a los criterios de selección de obras, el punto de partida será la existencia de traducciones en catalán, español, euskara y gallego; una vez superado este filtro inicial, que nos permite establecer un corte sincrónico que parte de los años 70 pero que permanece abierto en la actualidad, la disponibilidad de especialistas en los diversos autores o en las diversas franjas etarias implicadas (Literatura Infantil o Literatura Juvenil) será el segundo condicionante que afecta al establecimiento del corpus. Cada volumen comprenderá el análisis filológico-literario y traductológico de dos obras, una del subsistema de la LIJ inglesa y otra de la alemana. Después de los estudios puntuales descriptivos y evaluativos dedicados a cada binomio lingüístico se incluirá un pequeño capítulo en donde se trazarán relaciones comparativo-contrastivas entre las diferentes traducciones, de tal manera que nos permitan observar las distintas pautas de comportamiento traductor y sus posibles causas.

Literary and multimodal texts for children and young people play an important role in their acquisition of language and literacy, and they are a flourishing part of publishing and translating activities today. This book brings together twenty-one papers on the particular aspect of the translation of feigned orality. As the link between the literary and the multimodal text, fictional dialogue is the appropriate place for evoking orality, lending authenticity and credibility to the narrated plot and giving a voice to fictitious characters. This is illustrated with examples from narrative and dramatic texts as well as films, cartoons and television series, in their respective modes of mediation: translating, interpreting, dubbing and subtitling. Este libro pretende servir de guía para todos los estudiosos del apasionante mundo de la traducción de la literatura infantil y juvenil.
