Esta obra colectiva es el resultado de un proyecto investigativo que nació con el propósito de rendir homenaje al profesor emérito Andrés Eloy Ordóñez Ordóñez, quien contribuyó significativamente al estudio riguroso del derecho de seguros en Colombia y en el exterior. El legado del profesor Ordóñez trasciende la academia, en la cual es reconocido como uno de los doctrinantes más influyentes del derecho de seguros, y el sector asegurador, donde el ejercicio activo de la abogacía le permitió participar en los asuntos que marcaron la evolución del derecho de seguros en el país. En los trece trabajos que se presentan aquí se abordan diferentes temáticas que contribuirán al análisis y estudio de los problemas que en la actualidad enfrenta el derecho de seguros: la reciente jurisprudencia constitucional sobre el régimen de declaración del estado del riesgo; antecedentes del contrato de seguros; responsabilidad en materia ambiental y el seguro de responsabilidad; seguros en el transporte de mercancías y su logística; ley aplicable al fondo de la disputa en el arbitramento internacional; el seguro de cumplimiento en Colombia; el litisconsorcio en la acción directa del seguro de responsabilidad civil; incidencia de los seguros en los procesos de responsabilidad fiscal; introducción a la banca-seguros en el derecho colombiano; aspectos internacionales del contrato de seguro; el principio de indemnización en el contrato de reaseguro; la necesidad de reforma del título V del libro IV del Código de Comercio y el arbitraje de seguros y reaseguros.
