n Evangelism: A Road Less Traveled, the author's purpose is not to present another "How-To" book on evangelism and soul winning. He is not attempting to lay out before the reader a quick, easy-as-one-two-three approach to evangelizing lost souls and winning them to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ. Rather, his goal is more of wanting to motivate Christians to realize the importance of evangelism, and in so doing, encourage them to get off the sidelines and be involved in this most crucial of all duties we have been given as Christians. The motif used throughout the book is one everybody can relate to: that of simply driving down the road and encountering various obstacles along the way. The author makes it very clear from the start that as Christians, we have been given no choice in the matter. Jesus commanded all of us that we will be His witnesses. Through various biblical and personal illustrations from his own life and the lives of others, the author presents thought-provoking, insightful, rather poignant, and sometimes heart-wrenching examples of the effect that the life of Jesus has had on numerous lives down through the years. Written in a style which is easily readable for both the trained theologian and the lay person, it is hoped that Evangelism: A Road Less Traveled, will make the reader stop and take inventory of his or her own heart and life to see if they, too, need to get off the shoulder of the road and begin this journey down one of the least-traveled roads in the Christian's life. Gene Simowitz is a 1980 graduate of Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Kansas City, Missouri. Upon graduation, he immediately left Kansas City to move to Baltimore, Maryland, to serve as Minister of Evangelism in a quickly-growing church in the suburbs of Baltimore. After serving in that capacity for two and a half years, he went on to pastor churches in other parts of Maryland and Delaware, where he continued to make evangelism the primary emphasis of his ministry, resulting in rapid growth of the churches where he served. After retiring from the full-time ministry, Rev. Simowitz moved back to Kansas City, Missouri in April, 2010, where he now serves as Minister of Outreach and Evangelism at Gashland Baptist Church in Kansas City.

Most scholars believe that Mark wrote his Gospel to the Romans. True: but in addition to presenting the Gospel to the Romans, Mark actually contextualized his Gospel by challenging the leading propaganda of his day, Virgil’s Aeneid. The Roman poet, Virgil, wrote his masterpiece epic poem, the Aeneid, to promote the myth that Caesar Augustus was the son of god. The Aeneid went viral almost immediately upon publication in 19 BC, becoming Rome’s premier piece of propaganda that promoted Augustus as the emperor who would bring peace to the world. Within the first century, the Aeneid reached from Masada to northern Britain and became a foundational piece of Roman education. Mark’s mother, Mary, and his uncle, Joseph/Barnabas, raised him in wealth, and educated him in the four languages of Hebrew, Aramaic, Greek, and Latin. They drew him to Jesus, and Barnabas took Mark on the first missionary journey. Mark spent time with Peter in Rome, where Mark wrote his Gospel in Greek. Mark most certainly had direct access to the most influential piece of Latin literature, the Aeneid, and he wrote his masterpiece Gospel comparing Augustus with Jesus, the true Son of God.

Marching Orders written by Dan McGuire, PhD. and has been published by Catholic Answers Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2015-11-18 with Religion categories.

As a Marine officer, Dan McGuire learned the "operations order"- the standard five-part procedure that militaries use to conduct combat missions. Today he's a theologian and evangelist, and in Marching Orders he adapts the operations order to the mission of spiritual combat: the battle to save souls. Each of us is charged by our commander-in-chief Jesus Christ with the solemn mission to preach the gospel to the whole world (Matt. 28:16-20). This is not an optional duty, meant only for the exceptionally smart, holy, or extroverted- it's for all of us. Nor is it a job for the fainthearted. It takes virtues like courage and resolve, inner strength and daily acts of conversion. And it takes smart planning. In Marching Orders, Dr. McGuire gives you the virtue-building tools and resources-your weapons for the fight- you need to be a faithful disciple, and a battle-tested plan for turning your faith into evangelism. Your mission is to spread the Faith. Do you accept?
