This collection brings together artists, curators, programmers, theorists and heavy internet browsers, all of whose practices make a critical intervention into the broad concept of execution. It draws attention to their political strategies, asking: who and what is involved with those practices, and for whom or what are these practices performed, and how? From the contestable politics of emoji modifier mechanisms and micro-temporalities of computational processes to genomic exploitation and the curating of digital content, the chapters account for gendered, racialized, spatial, violent, erotic, artistic and other embedded forms of execution. Together they highlight a range of ways in which execution emerges and how it participates within networked forms of liveliness. With contributions by Roel Roscam Abbing, Geoff Cox, Olle Essvik, Jennifer Gabrys, Francisco Gallardo, David Gauthier, Brian House, Yuk Hui, Peggy Pierrot, Andy Prior, Helen Pritchard, Linda Hilfling Ritasdatter, Audrey Samson, Susan Schuppli, Kasper Hedegård Shiølin, Eric Snodgrass, Winnie Soon, Femke Snelting, Marie Louise Juul Søndergaard, and Magda Tyżlik-Carver.

The past ten years have seen a rapidly growing interest in performing and recording Classical and Romantic music with period instruments; yet the relationship of composers' notation to performing practices during that period has received only sporadic attention from scholars, and many aspects of composers' intentions have remained uncertain. Brown here identifies areas in which musical notation conveyed rather different messages to the musicians for whom it was written than it does to modern performers, and seeks to look beyond the notation to understand how composers might have expected to hear their music realized in performance. There is ample evidence to demonstrate that, in many respects, the sound worlds in which Mozart, Beethoven, Wagner, and Brahms created their music were more radically different from ours than is generally assumed.

Public organizations are often not at the centre of management studies, at the same time they are the engines of a good functioning society. In this research, organisational resilience and strategy execution are studied in the context of Italian municipalities. The thesis explores traits and characteristics allowing municipalities to successfully adapt to changes. Important results are the practical recommendations that will enable the strengthening of organisational resilience and execution characteristics. In a world where the only constant is change and a pandemic is shuffling the world paradigms, this book might represent an enlightening reading for public managers who want to fulfil the mission of their organisations.

The Politics Of International Law And Compliance written by Nikolas Rajkovic and has been published by Routledge this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2011-09 with History categories.
Leading the debate on the domestic effect of the growing influence of international adjudication, this invaluable text examines Serbia and Croatia’s erratic record of compliance with the International Criminal Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia (ICTY). Since the demise of the Milosevic and Tudjman regimes, Serbian and Croatian governments have been inconsistent in cooperating with the ICTY, despite the conditions of EU membership and US financial incentives. This study reconstructs events before, during and after extradition to build up a picture of the complex politics involved in ICTY relations, and provides a conceptual framework to study compliance in international relations and law. Through this analysis, a historical tracing of varied factors of political influence and a conceptualization of compliance is provided, resulting in a rich interdisciplinary work embracing political science, international relations and social theory. By scrutinizing the social meanings and political practices which become attached to prescribed norms in compliance processes, this book provides a highly-relevant insight into contemporary meanings of ‘compliance’. Politics of International Law and Compliance will be of interest to students and scholars of politics, international relations and international law, and European politics.
