While existing books related to DOE are focused either on process or mixture factors or analyze specific tools from DOE science, this text is structured both horizontally and vertically, covering the three most common objectives of any experimental research: * screening designs * mathematical modeling, and * optimization. Written in a simple and lively manner and backed by current chemical product studies from all around the world, the book elucidates basic concepts of statistical methods, experiment design and optimization techniques as applied to chemistry and chemical engineering. Throughout, the focus is on unifying the theory and methodology of optimization with well-known statistical and experimental methods. The author draws on his own experience in research and development, resulting in a work that will assist students, scientists and engineers in using the concepts covered here in seeking optimum conditions for a chemical system or process. With 441 tables, 250 diagrams, as well as 200 examples drawn from current chemical product studies, this is an invaluable and convenient source of information for all those involved in process optimization.

The Role Of Ecological Chemistry In Pollution Research And Sustainable Development written by Ali Mufit Bahadir and has been published by Springer this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2009-08-03 with Science categories.
Sustainable Development has become the leading concept of the 21 century. It describes a development, which agrees with the needs of the present generation but does not endanger the chances of the coming generations to satisfy also their needs. “Sustainable development” has become an important general goal for all fields of life like economy, ecology and social balance. The development and shaping of our future has been discussed internationally like on the summits of the Conferences in Rio and in Johannesburg. But this is also a topic on national base in various countries. Leading authorities in various fields of economy and politics have also accepted this concept. Although the concept of sustainable development has been generally accepted, there are still problems how to achieve and evaluate these general goals. It is clear that the definitions about the prime needs vary from man to man, from country to country and from continent to continent. But pollution does not respect national borders. Therefore, it is necessary to develop the politics of economy, ecology and social demands by a synergistic way that they are strengthened by each other. If it is not possible to stop tendencies, which threaten the future quality of life, the cost demands of societies will dramatically increase and negative tendencies will become irreversible.

Full Scale Plant Optimization in Chemical Engineering Highlights the basic principles and applications of the primary three methods in plant and process optimization for responsible operators and engineers. Chemical engineers are a vital part of the creation of any process development—lab-scale and pilot-scale—for any plant. In fact, they are the lynchpin of later efforts to scale-up and full-scale plant process improvement. As these engineers approach a new project, there are three generally recognized methodologies that are applicable in industry generally: Design of Experiments (DOE), Evolutionary Operations (EVOP), and Data Mining Using Neural Networks (DM). In Full Scale Plant Optimization in Chemical Engineering, experienced chemical engineer Živorad R. Laziċ offers an in-depth analysis and comparison of these three methods in full-scale plant optimization applications. The book is designed to provide the basic principles and necessary information for complete understanding of these three methods (DOE, EVOP, and DM). The application of each method is fully described. Full Scale Plant Optimization in Chemical Engineering readers will also find: A thorough discussion of the advantages, disadvantages and applications for the five different EVOP methods (BEVOP, ROVOP, REVOP, QSEVOP & SEVOP) with examples and simulations An overview of EVOP tools that responsible operators and engineers utilize in deciding which EVOP method is the most appropriate for the certain type of the process Particular attention is given to the simple but powerful technique Evolutionary Operation or EVOP, which provides the experimental tools for the full scale plant optimization Full Scale Plant Optimization in Chemical Engineering is a useful reference for all chemists in industry, chemical engineers, pharmaceutical chemists, and process engineers.

Soft Computing Applications written by Valentina Emilia Balas and has been published by Springer this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2017-10-01 with Technology & Engineering categories.
These two volumes constitute the Proceedings of the 7th International Workshop on Soft Computing Applications (SOFA 2016), held on 24–26 August 2016 in Arad, Romania. This edition was organized by Aurel Vlaicu University of Arad, Romania, University of Belgrade, Serbia, in conjunction with the Institute of Computer Science, Iasi Branch of the Romanian Academy, IEEE Romanian Section, Romanian Society of Control Engineering and Technical Informatics (SRAIT) - Arad Section, General Association of Engineers in Romania - Arad Section, and BTM Resources Arad. The soft computing concept was introduced by Lotfi Zadeh in 1991 and serves to highli ght the emergence of computing methodologies in which the accent is on exploiting the tolerance for imprecision and uncertainty to achieve tractability, robustness and lower costs. Soft computing facilitates the combined use of fuzzy logic, neurocomputing, evolutionary computing and probabilistic computing, leading to the concept of hybrid intelligent systems. The rapid emergence of new tools and applications calls for a synergy of scientific and technological disciplines in order to reveal the great potential of soft computing in all domains. The conference papers included in these proceedings, published post-conference, were grouped into the following areas of research: • Methods and Applications in Electrical Engineering • Knowledge-Based Technologies for Web Applications, Cloud Computing, Security Algorithms and Computer Networks • Biomedical Applications • Image, Text and Signal Processing • Machine Learning and Applications • Business Process Management • Fuzzy Applications, Theory and Fuzzy Control • Computational Intelligence in Education • Soft Computing & Fuzzy Logic in Biometrics (SCFLB) • Soft Computing Algorithms Applied in Economy, Industry and Communication Technology • Modelling and Applications in Textiles The book helps to disseminate advances in selected active research directions in the field of soft computing, along with current issues and applications of related topics. As such, it provides valuable information for professors, researchers and graduate students in the area of soft computing techniques and applications.
