Das war nun die Folge davon. Wie das schon aussah, die zwei Löwen hier vor der Tür. Als ginge es in eine Menagerie. Und all diese Büsten in dem Wintergarten. So etwas gehörte doch nicht auf die Straße, sondern in ein Museum. Nein, mit der alten Frau Dungs war es nicht mehr ganz richtig, und Herr Anton Dungs junior hatte wirklich keinen leichten Stand in seiner Familie. Und dort auf dem Hotelbalkon stand natürlich das junge Fräulein von heute morgen und sah in die Luft. Hätte sie wenigstens gesessen und eine Handarbeit im Schoß gehabt, aber so. Es war noch nicht vier Uhr nachmittags. Da hat man doch keine Zeit, einfach auf dem Balkon zu stehen und in die Luft zu gucken." Kurt Aram (1869-1934) war ein deutscher Journalist und Schriftsteller.

The study of ritual practice in the past is an accepted part of archaeological research these days. Yet, its theoretical basis is still not fully mature. This book aims at making a contribution to the study of ritual practice in the past by assembling a theoretical framework, which is tailored to the needs of archaeology, and which helps to identity and interpret the remains of rituals in the past. This framework is applied in a special archaeological region: the coastal area of the northern Netherlands, a former salt marsh area. In the past, people lived here on artificial dwelling mounds, so-called terps. Preservation conditions are excellent in this wetland area. This study makes use of the well-preserved remains of rituals in terps, to examine the role of ritual practice in the societies of the pre-Roman and Roman Iron Age in this area.

Familie Dungs, erschien 1913 und schildert Leben und Taten innerhalb einer b�rgerlichen Familie kurz vor dem Ausbruch des 1. Weltkriegs. Hans Fischer, der unter den Pseudonym Kurt Aram schrieb, war bis zu seiner Amtsniederlegung 1900 Pfarrer in Herborn. Er verfasste eine Reihe von Romanen, die allgemein zur Unterhaltungsliteratur gez�hlt werden. Aus dem Buch: Wenn er nun diesen Herrn Dungs einfach aus dem Hause geworfen h�tte und Lotte einfach verboten, auch nur an ihn zu denken? Es w�re immer noch besser gewesen als der Zustand, in dem sie sich nun befand. Sie h�tte ihm gez�rnt, sie w�re b�se mit ihm gewesen und h�tte eine Zeitlang geschmollt oder dergleichen. Aber mit der Zeit w�re sie wohl wieder gut geworden, h�tte die Dummheit vergessen, - und jetzt? Jedenfalls h�tte sie sich jetzt nicht mehr mit Sorgen um diesen Herrn Dungs herumschlagen m�ssen, der nun schon fast ein Jahr lang fort war und nur selten von sich h�ren lie�.
