Faith, freedom, and family together form the bedrock of a good life and a just society. But this foundation has suffered seismic shocks from vibrant religious pluralism, profound political changes, and new conceptions of marriage. This volume retrieves the major legal and theological teachings that have shaped these institutions and suggests ways to strengthen and integrate them anew. Part I highlights the work of several scholars of law and religion who have defined and defended the place of faith in law, politics, and society. Part II documents the development of freedom in the West and parries the attacks of skeptics of modern rights. Part III reaffirms the family as a cornerstone of faith and freedom historically and today, even while defending some modern marital reforms. Opening essays by the editors and closing interviews of the author place Witte's work in biographical and intellectual context and map some of the new frontiers and challenges of faith, freedom, and family around the globe.

Family, Faith and Freedom is the writings of established author Kerry Susan Drake. She sets forth prose and poetry about the ideals we live for, our family, our faith, and our freedom. The family is still our most important model for civilization, and in the modern world, it is under threat. Faith is still a part of meeting the needs of civilized groups. Freedom can only be achieved if there are healthy motivations in civilization. The strength and power of the word still solidifies the grounding we all need. It is in the family, in the faith, and in the freedom of the word that life flourishes; for we then grow and sense our purpose.

The Activist Mommy, a social media sensation with over 70 million video views, leads the way for today's Christians in the culture war. News headlines point to a world that has gone stark-raving mad. Right is wrong and wrong is right. Religious liberty is under attack. Gender identity and fluidity is not only accepted but encouraged. Same-sex marriage is embraced by some churches. Deviant sexual practices are taught in schools. Hundreds of thousands of babies are aborted annually. "No more!" cries Elizabeth Johnston (aka The Activist Mommy), who has made Christian activism a calling for her life and her family. In Not on My Watch, Johnston courageously defends the timeless truths of God's Word and inspires and encourages other Christians to unite in winning this war for our children, our morals, our freedom, and our culture.

Many books have been written on conservative politics. Many more have been written calling Christians to holiness and spiritual revival. Few, however, have managed to combine a clear explanation of the conservative political perspective with its corresponding personal and spiritual virtue. In INDIVISIBLE, James Robison, the founder and president of LIFE Outreach International, partners with Jay Richards, Ph.D., a writer who has appeared in both the New York Times and The Washington Post. Together, they tackle tough, controversial political issues facing conservative Christians today, including abortion, stem cell research, education, economics, health care, the environment, judicial activism, marriage, and others. Written to appeal to a broad spectrum of believers, INDIVISIBLE not only argues political questions from a Scriptural standpoint, it also provides simple arguments that Christians can use to support their beliefs in public settings. Most significantly, Robison and Richards recognize that the point of origin for spiritual and moral transformation is the individual. "We are convinced by historical precedent that long term cultural change requires not merely sound thinking and public good works but rather, God's spiritual and moral transformation of us as individuals, which will then transform our churches, our communities, our culture, and ultimately our politics." James Robison is the founder and president of LIFE Outreach International, a worldwide Christian relief organization. He is also the host of LIFE Today, a daily syndicated television program that reaches 300 million homes in the U.S., Canada, Europe, and Australia. He is the author of many books, including The Absolutes, True Prosperity, and Living in Love, and has spoken to millions of people through evangelistic crusades since entering public ministry in 1962. Jay W. Richards, Ph.D., is a Senior Fellow at the Discovery Institute and the author of many books, including the award-winning Money, Greed, and God and The Privileged Planet. He is the executive director of the documentaries The Call of the Entrepreneur and The Birth of Freedom. He has been featured in the New York Times and the Washington Post and has appeared on Larry King Live. He has also lectured on economic myths to members of the U.S. Congress.

Were your ancestors migrants? If they were, you have a unique story to tell about your roots. For many Chinese Singaporean families, why and how their forefathers took to the south seas is nothing short of intriguing. Driven by the prospect of a better life or seeking refuge from turmoil at home, many Chinese came to settle in Singapore. In this book, Cyprian Lim chronicles the ups and downs of his family, capturing 20 generations of the Lee Clan from the first person who established the lineage in the late Yuan dynasty to the present day. He has painstakingly pieced together his lineage from a collection of historical documents, supplemented by interviews with eye witnesses and protagonists to present a fascinating personal history.Key personalities are fleshed out as far as records allow. Cyprian focuses particularly on his great, great grandfather, a Qing scholar who brought the family to the Catholic faith and his great grandfather, Paul Lee Kheng Guan, a well-known Catholic towkay in Singapore.Of particular interest is the family's links to the Catholic faith. Paul's contribution as a respected towkay to the development of Singapore's Catholic community is chronicled, as is the legacy of his son and grandsons who have served the Catholic population in Malaysia and Singapore as Catholic priests.By giving the historical context of various family developments, such as the political unrest in China in the early 1900s and the rise of Singapore, Cyprian captures the family's fortunes as a microcosm of the world order.Related Link(s)

Religious liberty is under attack in America. Your freedom to believe may not last much longer. To all those who say they don’t care about the culture war, Erick Erickson has only one response: "The Left will not let you stay on the sidelines. You will be made to care." Now the former Editor-in-Chief of RedState.com joins with Christian author Bill Blankschaen to expose the war in America on Christians and all people of faith who refuse to bow to the worst kind of religion—secularism—one intent on systematically imposing its agenda and frightening doubters into silence. The book features first-hand accounts from Christians who've been punished for their beliefs and the perspectives of concerned thought leaders to make the case that Americans of faith can't afford to ignore what's happening—not anymore. You Will Be Made to Care offers hope for preserving freedom of conscience with practical steps that believers, families, pastors, church leaders, and citizens can take to resist tyranny and experience a resurgence of faith in America.

It isn't very politically correct to say America is a Christian nation. However, the Founding Fathers were Christians and their core convictions were the bedrock upon which this country was built. These principles include the belief that as divine creations of God, we are all equal before the law, each citizen has intrinsic worth and value above any government, and our rights are endowed onto us by our Creator. These beliefs are not politically correct. Political correctness is an extension of cultural Marxism that seeks to remove every aspect of God and religion from American public life, including how we are governed. If they are successful, and they have been very successful so far, we lose what made America great in the first place. Our concept of the rule of law disappears, and the elite play by different rules than the rest of us. The belief that our rights come from God is removed. Our rights then can be twisted, manipulated, or stripped from us for political expediency. Worst of all, the divine nature of the creation of mankind with an immortal soul is gone. They can then do whatever they want. With no God, there is no objective right, wrong, good, or evil. The ends justify the means, and the perpetrators can execute their evils with a clean conscience because there is no sin. Cultural Marxism has been a powerful force in American culture for almost a century, shaping institutions such as school, family, and government. In the 1920s and during World War II, socialist ideas that originated at the Frankfurt School, also known as the Institute for Social Research, began to seep into the social fabric of the US. As the cultural Marxist movement gained power, the reach of the federal government expanded, and the basic value of each individual citizen was diminished. The role of the Judeo-Christian belief system, which emphasizes absolute truth and the dignity of the individual, has been ignored""with disastrous consequences. Using the Ten Commandments and the Bill of Rights, author Joe Gilbert lays out the relationship God intended family, government, and individuals to have with each other and guides readers to a renewed hope and vision of American ideals shaped by objective biblical truth. Fans of Glenn Beck and Mark Levin will find Of Faith and Freedom a useful companion in the fight against the malevolent social forces that have so negatively influenced America.
