Man's heart is a divine gift from God which shall be examined upon his death. This has been disclosed to man as far back as 3,500 BCE in the Egyptian Book of the Dead. From literal evidence, the Chinese came from the Tower of Babel, Sumeria, present IRAQ and were monotheist. From other captivating information in the Old Testatment, and the Temple of Heaven in Beijing, The Chinese are related by blood to Abraham. The Tao Te Ching confirms the closeness between the New Testament and the Tao Te Ching between their relations. And Confusius wrote the moral laws and the Chinese practise them up to this day. My journey brought me through the ancient Chinese civilisation, Jesus Christ teachings up to the coming of the Holy Koran with the seal of God’s prophets in 633 AD. Cover picture: A Chinese Urn with an image of a Chinese mosque found in the Malacca Seas after 500 years. “He has written an interesting book on his search for God and meaning in his life. The story of how he became a Muslim is fascinating.” Professor Tommy Koh, Professor of Law, National University of Singapore “Mission Accomplished. A brilliantly chronicled autobiography of a Singapore lawyer, weaned from a childhood of eye-opening brushes with religious coexistence that step by step led to his embrace of a faith which friends – and foes alike – were caught unaware by its conviction. Tracing the roots of righteousness right down from ancient texts to modern interpretations, it is a scholarly penned chronology of his life-long desire to understand why mankind exist to do the right things. Jeffrey Low, His old Soccer mate, Ex-Straits Times Sportswriter “..... how Rugby as a ruffian’s game played by gentlemen, from which sport he made the lifelong friends; and his look at philosophy and religion, which have brought him to accept the Five Pillars of Islam. An essential read for those who wish to gain an insight on how multi-racial and religious Singapore play in the moulding of the modern Singapore persona!” Jen Shek Voon, Chartered Accountant MComm (Hons.) “Completed reading your book. I felt Qian Cheng (pious/sincere/modest) of your writings. Congratulations” Ust. Jamal Soe Thein, BA (Theology) Al Azhar Egypt and BA (Arabic Language) Rangoon, Burma

The definitive guide to place names in Singapore. Place names tell us much about a country – its history, its landscape, its people, its aspirations, its self-image. The study of place names, ‘toponymics’, unlocks the myriad interlocking stories that are encoded in every street and landmark. In Singapore, the coexistence of various races, cultures and languages, as well as its history of colonisation, immigration and nationalism, have given rise to a complex tapestry of place names. Alkaff Quay, Coleman Bridge, Ann Siang Hill, Bukit Merah – how did these places get their names? Nee Soon or Yishun? Serangoon Road or Tekka? First published in 2003 as Toponymics, this updated and expanded edition of the book incorporates a wealth of new findings, from archival research and interviews, and sets out to answer these questions – and any question that might be asked about the origin, meaning or significance of place names in Singapore

Travels With Myself written by Joachim Matschoss and has been published by Notion Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2018-06-14 with Poetry categories.

The haiku that punctuate Joachim Matschoss' travels work as luminous mile-markers, cryptic road signs and legends on maps that trail off into myth and legend. Matschoss understands that the language of intimacy between humans extends to interactions with landscape, history, animals and weather. These haiku find the sum of their many parts in a palpable immediacy and longing. - Anthony Lawrence Matschoss devotes himself to an ancient art form that captures the moment before it escapes, and he does it with humour, insight, whimsy, a keen ear, and a sharp eye. In publishing so many haikus, he shares his unique take on the world. Reading them, you may be inspired to create and share yours. - Arnold Zable Travels with Myself is a perfect title for this brilliant Haiku collection by theatre-maker, poet and playwright, Joachim Matschoss. A busy life is hauled back again and again to quiet moments – to pictures in rich words. - Irish poet, Terry McDonagh What is never lost in Travels with Myself is the primacy of experience and the direct way of finding its expression. These haikus are clear-eyed, meditative and full of surprises. - Frank Rullow This book is a phantasmagoria of words beautifully crafted to engage the senses of the reader. As one turns each page, words fall into place, and the journey begins through the neon-lit streets of the poet’s mind. He entices us into his reality festooned with irony, futility and an acceptance of life with all its surprises. Truly a travel book for those that rarely leave or have never left home even when they travel. - Mark Ulyseas

Choo Seng Quee is arguably Singapore's greatest football coach. He brought Singapore football to great heights, especially during the 1970s. This larger-than-life footballing icon had already made a name for himself as a no-nonsense defender during the 1930s helping Singapore win the Malaya Cup on two occasions.World War II disrupted his promising playing career, and after the war, he switched to coaching. In a coaching career spanning almost 30 years, he had several spells as coach of the Singapore national team (in addition to also coaching the Malaysian and Indonesian teams). Though his coaching methods were 'old school', based on hard work and discipline, success followed him wherever he went. His brash manner, unfortunately, did not endear well with the powers who ran the Singapore Amateur Football Association (SAFA), a predecessor of the Football Association of Singapore (FAS). This led him being thrown into football wilderness on several occasions. But that did not stop him from progressing in his coaching career. The football administrators from Malaysia and Indonesia took advantage of these moments of 'unemployment' by offering him financially attractive contracts to coach their respective teams, leading to years of success while Choo Seng Quee was at the helm. This is the incredible story of this legend known to many as simply 'Uncle Choo' who instilled a sense of patriotism in his players. To him, wearing the Singapore jersey was a badge of honour.

Match Fixer takes place inside the murky underbelly of Asian Football. The so-called squeaky clean city-state of Singapore plays host to betting syndicates which have for decades fed off the insatiable illegal gambling habits of the local population and in the process made a select few bookies very rich and far too powerful. Neil Humpreys, a former Football correspondent for the national Singapore press, lifts the lid off a previously unexplored - but very real - subject. In his debut novel, corruption is destroying the Beautiful Game in Asia and has spread its tentacles into the UK via spread betting cartels that have already knocked out floodlights and caused chaos in the English Premier League. Against such a background, former West Ham United apprentice striker Chris Osborne arrives in Singapore for a final roll of the dice to get his once promising career back on track. However not even a boyhood spent growing up in the East End prepares him for the crooked shenanigans, bloated former British footballing jetsam and the underground party drugs scene that welcomes him to life in paradise.
