Fiat socialism could also be called flexible socialism, as it frees socialism from the rigidities imposed by historical law. This socialism will take different forms in different places, it accepts that socialist organizations are not exempt from making mistakes, it will involve different levels of participation by the private sector, as well as different levels in the gross operating surpluses, and it is open to processes of improvement in order to mobilize real resources in the best possible way to achieve the goals of socialism. Only one rigidity is established: monetary sovereignty. Modern monetary theory is only valid in monetary systems where the state is the sovereign issuer of its currency and where there is an appropriate coordination between the Central Bank and the Treasury. If Archimedes in ancient Greece said give me a point of support and I will move the world, a socialist Archimedes would say give me monetary sovereignty and I will build you socialism. A detailed look at how, and why, the American financial system has reached its current state Today's economy and capital markets are faced with the long-term buildup of public and private credit. Furthermore, we face higher taxes, greater spending, and more debt. We are now at a critical crossroads and our leaders have few realistic solutions. Proposals calling for tax reforms or fewer regulations have fallen on deaf ears. In fact, U.S. democracy has become more socialist and reform is needed immediately. Endless Money is an examination of how the U.S. government and the country's financial systems have embraced socialism, and why cultural deterioration reinforces the trend and jeopardizes democracy. In it, author William Baker sees this socialism embodied in two things. The first is the socialization of income, the second is the socialization of credit. Explores the present socialistic qualities of the American government and its financial system Looks back at how today's conditions relate not just to the Great Depression, but ancient empires such as Rome Calls for radical changes such as reduced regulatory power of the Federal Reserve, a considerable devaluation of the dollar in terms of gold, and repeal of income tax Includes a Web site devoted to book, with recommendations, quotes from the financial community, and think tank contacts Insightful and informative, Endless Money examines our current economic condition and describes what the United States can do to get back on the right economic track.

Across the Soviet Bloc, from the 1960s until the collapse of communism, the automobile exemplified the tension between the ideological imperatives of political authorities and the aspirations of ordinary citizens. For the latter, the automobile was the ticket to personal freedom and a piece of the imagined consumer paradise of the West. For the authorities, the personal car was a private, mobile space that challenged the most basic assumptions of the collectivity. The "socialist car"—and the car culture that built up around it—was the result of an always unstable compromise between official ideology, available resources, and the desires of an increasingly restless citizenry. In The Socialist Car, eleven scholars from Europe and North America explore in vivid detail the interface between the motorcar and the state socialist countries of Eastern Europe, including the USSR. In addition to the metal, glass, upholstery, and plastic from which the Ladas, Dacias, Trabants, and other still extant but aging models were fabricated, the socialist car embodied East Europeans' longings and compromises, hopes and disappointments. The socialist car represented both aspirations of overcoming the technological gap between the capitalist first and socialist second worlds and dreams of enhancing personal mobility and status. Certain features of automobility—shortages and privileges, waiting lists and lack of readily available credit, the inadequacy of streets and highways—prevailed across the Soviet Bloc. In this collective history, the authors put aside both ridicule and nostalgia in the interest of trying to understand the socialist car in its own context.

Finance Accumulation And Monetary Power written by Daniel Woodley and has been published by Routledge this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2019-10-29 with Political Science categories.

This accessible yet rigorous book examines the development of ‘financial socialism’ in advanced capitalist economies in the decade since the global financial crisis of 2007–2009. This new term refers to an attempt to resolve the accumulation crisis of capital through coordinated central bank activism, where state circuits of monetary capital assume a critical role in the reproduction of capitalist social relations. The book explains the dynamics of the crisis as it has developed and assesses the response of monetary elites to systemic financial risk in the global economy. Their failure to re-engineer growth following the technology boom of the late 1990s and the global financial crisis are driving fundamental changes in the form and function of capitalist money, which have yet to be theorized adequately. Finance, Accumulation and Monetary Power presents a revealing and radical critique of the failure of the International Political Economy to apprehend changes taking place within capitalism, employing a critical-theoretical analysis of contradictions in the capitalist reproduction scheme. The book will be of key interest to scholars, students and readers of international political economy, critical political economy, heterodox economics, globalization, international relations, international political sociology, business studies and finance.

Global Currency Plot written by Thorsten Polleit and has been published by Ludwig von Mises Institute this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on with Business & Economics categories.

Money today is a political tool. To understand the implications of this, you first have to understand the agenda of those who wield political power. The political trend for decades has been toward democratic socialism, with its abhorrence of markets and its love of the planned economy. Its continued success must worry anyone who desires freedom and prosperity. The Global Currency Plot puts socialism to a rigorous test of logic and finds it wanting. Polleit offers an antidote to democratic socialism and its monetary conquest—the private law society with a free market for money. The book is primarily intended for the noneconomist, but it will appeal to anyone who seeks answers to the political trends and economic news of today. With clear logic Thorsten Polleit shows in this important work the aims and ways in which democratic socialism moves toward a globally planned state, dominated by a “nomenclatura.” With convincing logic he also presents the free market economy as a superior alternative. A fascinating book! —H.S.H. Prince Michael of Liechtenstein Is there a connection between political centralization, mass immigration and the quest for a common currency? Yes. Thorsten Polleit exposes with captivating logic the destructive power of democratic socialism, its tools and its aspirations for world domination. Both an enlightening and cautionary book. Essential reading! —Malte Fischer, economist

Socialism Or Extinction written by Ted Reese and has been published by this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2020-11-03 with categories.

"A vital, indispensable contribution to Marxist theory. Reese explains the cause of the crisis and its solution with clarity and precision. Get this now." - James Bell, Prolekult.Socialism or Extinction: Climate, Automation and War in the Final Capitalist Breakdown is a systematic theoretical/Marxist analysis of the unprecedented crises engulfing humanity, arguing:* that capitalism per se - because its ever-growing dependence on exploiting labour makes the labour-intensity of extraction-based production increasingly necessary - is the cause of and can only continue to accelerate the climate crisis;* that the overall rate of profit is trending historically towards (a permanent) zero and that the final expression of this is the tendency towards fully automated production, which is eliminating the sole source of profit/surplus value - the exploitation of commodity-producing human labour;* that, drawing on the work of Karl Marx and Henryk Grossman, capitalism is heading unavoidably, in purely economic terms, towards a final, insurmountable breakdown that is destined to strike much earlier than a zero rate of profit - and, indeed, that the next, looming crisis will at some point see all fiat currencies collapse against precious metals, ie worldwide hyperinflation. It is also argued therefore that a global digital currency whereby exchange-value/value creation is based on labour's use-value instead of its surplus value - ending the exploitation of labour - is becoming an economic necessity;* that the accumulation crisis is forcing the world's imperialist powers into direct confrontation, meaning humanity faces not one extinction threat, but two;* that the solution to the climate crisis requires: value creation to become based on use-value instead of surplus value, ending the absolute economic need to plunder the environment; an incentivised transition towards a communal system of living in order to achieve massive efficiency gains; and the end of the alienation capitalism imposes between man and nature, in large part by ending the international prohibition of hemp, nature's most prolific and versatile crop - and the key not only to reversing desertification and stabilising the climate, but to the next stage in technological and industrial development, ie a green industrial revolution that is actually green;* that the productive forces, in line with their historical development, now demand democratic central planning of the economy as a whole - ie a public monopoly - meaning the all-socialist state and a Communist International remain necessary during the transition to (global, stateless) communism, a borderless world of equality and relative abundance for all.
