As a child, I thought war was just a game. As I grew up, I found out that war is very real and its effects devastating. I was taught ("conditioned") to believe that war is necessary, and grew up believing this. Now that I'm an adult, I'm interested in understanding what causes war and what each of us can do to end it. This book is intended to help you understand conditioning, because I think that what we call "conditioning" is the main cause of conflict - inside us as tension, fear, hate and anger, and outside as war. If we can become aware of how we are "conditioned" in our day-to-day life, then we can understand how such conditioning can lead to world conflict. Conditioning, and what causes it, is the "invisible enemy" because it is often unseen, hidden. The usual approach to dealing with this "enemy" is to fight it which just makes the situation worse. However, if you can understand conditioning, you can be free of it.

The entire globe is fighting an invisible enemy at present. It is killing people without discriminating on the basis of race, religion, color, caste, creed, language or border. However, the visible enemies are continuing to hurt each other for being born differently, in the name of religion, territory or survival. No end to violence in sight! Even the deadly pandemic has not awakened the conscience of the mortal humans. This book has been written during this lock down period and reflects on my journey which began from the beautiful valley of Kashmir. It touches upon the pandemic, Black Lives Matter, South Asians come to the U.S, Kashmir imbroglio, and the dangerous over-the-counter supplements. It navigates through the political turmoil and the powerful interest groups exert on changing our lives.

A history of the establishment and role of the National Institute for Communicable Diseases (NICD), the public health organization in South Africa Fighting an Invisible Enemy narrates the founding in 2002 and growth of the internationally renowned centre of excellence for communicable diseases, the National Institute for Communicable Diseases (NICD) in South Africa. In a continent riven with a panoply of formidable contagious pathogens, the book describes how the nascent NICD travelled a rocky road to maturity. Starting humbly, as did many of its sister public health institutions around the world, the road was strewn with daunting obstacles of financial restrictions, bureaucratic straitjacketing, international isolation during the apartheid era and, in later years, the calumny of governmental AIDS denial. Following the triumph of the eradication of the once-dreaded smallpox, the NICD now plays a crucial role in the global effort to eradicate poliomyelitis. While the country has the misfortune of the largest HIV/AIDS pandemic in the world, the Institute’s HIV research unit has become a world leader. More remote from public notice are the laboratories and support epidemiologists carry out for ongoing surveillance of communicable diseases and the alerts they provide for any signal of an impending outbreak or pandemic. The Institute’s value to public health was clearly shown in the recent Covid-19 pandemic. The maxim that we are only safe when everyone everywhere is safe, underlines the importance of international partnerships and the key role the NICD plays, not only for the country but also for global health. This is a flagship organization in public health in South Africa and this book paints a vivid portrait of its incredible accomplishments.

This book gives Christians and none-Christians an opportunity to realise that there is spiritual war against their lives by the enemy of their souls called Satan. The battle is called spiritual war, fought with spiritual weapons in the spiritual realm. The reason why it is called spiritual war is that it is fought in the spirit, the unseen spiritual world also called the supernatural world. The world we are born in, live in and die in, is not a safer place as we think. This book is an opportunity for Christians and non-Christians to change their thinking and a chance to change their lives forever about the problems they go through in their lives. This is a piece of good news indeed and now is the time for you to gain back your freedom through it. The book is also a wakeup call for people who have not experience Satanic attacks at present, yet they are most likely to experience one in the future, of which they must act now to avoid it. Majority of Christians and non-Christians alike lived in denial, that Satan does not exist, and only the small number of them acknowledged he exists, but they underestimate his power and his intention against their lives. The bible leaves no room for doubt that we are at war with Satan, it even refers to Christians as soldiers with weapons to fight the war. This war is being fought over your body, soul, spirit, vision and mission, family, finances, properties, businesses and so forth. Satan attacks the above-mentioned areas of your life through sickness, stress, suicide, anxiety, starvation, poverty, joblessness, wars, hatred, racism, greed, corruption, divorce, sexual immorality and so forth. Little is known about all these forms of human sufferings, yet people experienced them and lived with them. But I come to tell you in this book that all these attacks are from Satan, and they can be stopped, if you can stand up and fight for your freedom against Satan, through your God-given weapons. The book gives Christians an opportunity to use their spiritual weapons given to them by God to fight and win the war against their lives. These weapons of spiritual warfare are; the name and blood of Jesus Christ, prayer, faith, truth, salvation, fasting, peace, righteousness, and confession and repentance of sins. With these weapons in their hands, they are positioned to restore back what Satan has already stolen from them or what he may try to steal, kill, and destroy from them in the future. David Wel is a Church Warden, Secretary, Administrator, Teacher, Author, and the host of DW Spiritual Care International Online Discussion Program. He is the author of two books: Fighting the Invisible Enemy and Human Being as Tripartite; Body, Soul and Spirt. He is passionate to bring hope to hopeless people through the word of God. But there is even more to this as he lately discovered that God as our creator has a plan for us. We were created by God with great potentials within us and it is his determination to help you discover your God-given gift within you. For you to increase your productivity, he will help you unlock your potential within you by bringing resources, information, faith, knowledge, wisdom and understanding for you to live and enjoy the life you were born to live here on earth.

Native Americans long resisted Western medicine—but had less power to resist the threat posed by Western diseases. And so, as the Office of Indian Affairs reluctantly entered the business of health and medicine, Native peoples reluctantly began to allow Western medicine into their communities. Fighting Invisible Enemies traces this transition among inhabitants of the Mission Indian Agency of Southern California from the late nineteenth through the mid-twentieth century. What historian Clifford E. Trafzer describes is not so much a transition from one practice to another as a gradual incorporation of Western medicine into Indian medical practices. Melding indigenous and medical history specific to Southern California, his book combines statistical information and documents from the federal government with the oral narratives of several tribes. Many of these oral histories—detailing traditional beliefs about disease causation, medical practices, and treatment—are unique to this work, the product of the author’s close and trusted relationships with tribal elders. Trafzer examines the years of interaction that transpired before Native people allowed elements of Western medicine and health care into their lives, homes, and communities. Among the factors he cites as impelling the change were settler-borne diseases, the negative effects of federal Indian policies, and the sincere desire of both Indians and agency doctors and nurses to combat the spread of disease. Here we see how, unlike many encounters between Indians and non-Indians in Southern California, this cooperative effort proved positive and constructive, resulting in fewer deaths from infectious diseases, especially tuberculosis. The first study of its kind, Trafzer’s work fills gaps in Native American, medical, and Southern California history. It informs our understanding of the working relationship between indigenous and Western medical traditions and practices as it continues to develop today.
