Lange Zeit wurde die Vereinsarbeit durch Ehrenamtliche verrichtet. Wirtschaftliche Denkweisen wurden dabei weitgehend vernachlässigt oder als notwendiges Übel betrachtet. Begründet wurde dies mit der Zielsetzung gemeinnütziger Vereine, in der nicht ökonomische, sondern ideelle Ziele im Vordergrund standen. Vereine wurden aufgrund ihres gemeinnützigen Auftrags überwiegend durch öffentliche Finanzmittel unterstützt, womit die Notwendigkeit der Finanzmittelakquise zumindest in der Vergangenheit nicht im Vordergrund stand. Doch die Anforderungen an NPOs werden immer komplexer (Migration, demografischer Wandel) und können auf Dauer nicht allein durch ehrenamtliche Mitarbeiter bewältigt werden. Zumal ein stetiger Rückgang ehrenamtlichen Engagements zu beobachten ist. Eine Alternative zu Ehrenamtlichen ist daher die Festanstellung von Mitarbeitern. Die damit verbundenen Personalausgaben sind ein Hauptmotiv, um sich mit Finanzierung von NPOs zu beschäftigen. Diese Arbeit beschäftigt sich mit den Methoden der Finanzbeschaffung, die vor allem eine Finanzierung von professioneller Sozialer Arbeit möglich macht. Die Zivilgesellschaft neben den Komponenten Staat und Markt beschreiben die Bereiche, die das Miteinander gestalten und beeinflussen. Während der Staat eine Vollfinanzierung unter anderem durch Steuern genießt und der Markt sich durch Gewinnausschüttung finanziert, hat der dritte Sektor (Non-Profit-Organisation) seine eigene Finanzierungsstruktur. Im ersten Kapitel findet eine begriffliche Auseinandersetzung mit dem Terminus „Non-Profit-Organisation“ statt. Im zweiten Kapitel durchleuchte ich das eigentliche Finanzierungsziel einer NPO. Anhand einer fiktiven Migrantenselbst-organisation, die im Verlauf der Hausarbeit „MSO“ genannt wird, stelle ich in Kapitel 3 exemplarisch eine Kostenaufstellung vor, die eine Finanzierung notwendig macht. Daran anschließend wird im 4. Kapitel die Finanzierung beschrieben. Ich stelle dabei unterschiedliche Finanzierungsquellen vor, wobei ich sowohl ihren Nutzen als auch den Aufwand zur Akquise beschreibe. In meiner Hausarbeit hebe ich auch die Unterschiede zu profitorientierten Organisationen hervor. Ich schließe die Hausarbeit im Kapitel 6 mit dem Fazit ab.

Inhaltsangabe:Einleitung: Die derzeit angespannte finanzielle Haushaltslage in Deutschland fordert die Erschließung neuer Finanzierungsmöglichkeiten von Nonprofit Organisationen. Diese Thematik betrifft sowohl den kleinen gemeinnützigen Verein, als auch die großen Wohlfahrtsverbände. Die praktischen Erfahrungen, die ich im Rahmen meines Studiums sammeln konnte, haben mir gezeigt, dass die Vielfältigkeit von Finanzierungsmöglichkeiten in den Einrichtungen oft nicht bekannt sind. Wer aber weiterhin auf dem Markt der Sozialen Arbeit Erfolg haben will und neue Ideen und Projekte verwirklichen möchte, muss Kenntnisse über den Finanzierungs-Mix besitzen. Zudem hat sich der Beruf der Fundraiserinnen und des Fundraisers schon in vielen Organisationen etabliert und bietet somit eine neue Berufschance auch für SozialpädagogInnen. Die aktuelle Wirtschaftslage erfordert ein Umdenken in der Sozialen Arbeit. Viele SozialpädagogInnen sträuben sich nach wie vor, sich mit der sozialökonomischen Neuorientierung zu befassen. Ich halte es für notwendig sich mit dieser Thematik auseinander zusetzen. Daher werde ich im Rahmen dieser Diplomarbeit die Finanzierungsmöglichkeiten für Nonprofit Organisationen darstellen. Ich möchte dem Leser zu Beginn einen Einblick über mögliche Finanzierungsformen der Sozialen Arbeit gewähren, bevor ich die Stellenwerte der einzelnen Finanzierungsformen der Sozialen Arbeit in Deutschland betrachte. Im Anschluss werde ich mich eingehend mit den einzelnen Finanzierungsmöglichkeiten auseinandersetzen. Den Schwerpunkt meiner Diplomarbeit lege ich dabei auf die alternativen Finanzierungsmöglichkeiten, dem so genannten Fundraising. Der Begriff Fundraising wird erläutert und anschließend der aktuelle Fundraising-Markt in Deutschland, mit seiner Bedeutung für die Soziale Arbeit dargestellt. Die Erklärung der einzelnen Finanzierungsformen im Rahmen vom Fundraising, wird auch den Bezug zwischen Theorie und Praxis beinhalten, indem ich die Möglichkeiten und Grenzen einzelner alternativer Finanzierungsformen aufzeige. Die angeführten Praxisbeispiele, sowie die Zusammenfassung werden sich auf Grund meines fachlichen Hintergrundes häufig auf den Bereich der Sozialen Dienste und Hilfen beziehen. Angesichts der zunehmenden Probleme im sozialen Bereich, wie etwa Arbeitslosigkeit, Wohnungsnot, Armut, wachsende Gewaltbereitschaft bei Kindern und Jugendlichen usw., bedeuten ungesicherte Finanzierung eine Reduzierung der Angebote bzw. ein Absenken der Standards. Solche Prozesse legen dar, dass sich gemeinnützige Organisationen auf bisherige Einnahmequellen nicht mehr verlassen können, sondern folglich finanzielle Mittel aus anderem Wege beschaffen und somit selbst aktiv werden müssen. In der Sozialen Arbeit stellen die Kommunen weiterhin die wichtigsten Geldgeber dar, aber auch hier gestaltet sich die finanzielle Absicherung als zunehmend schwierig. Somit treten neue, nicht öffentliche Finanzierungsmöglichkeiten in den Vordergrund, um bedarfsgerechte und zielgruppenorientierte Projekte zu ermöglichen. Die freiwillige Finanzierung Sozialer Arbeit durch Privatpersonen oder Firmen nimmt an Bedeutung zu. In diesem Zusammenhang ist das Fundraising in den vergangenen Jahren nicht nur in Deutschland, sondern auch in Teilen Europas immer relevanter geworden. Das hängt vor allem mit dem wachsenden Interesse der Gesellschaft, private Finanzquellen für ihre Arbeit zu nutzen, zusammen; sie wollen nicht nur wissen, wie es geht, sondern werden tatsächlich aktiv. Why are there such large gaps between migration debates and migration realities, and how can they be reduced? Bridging the Gaps: Linking Research to Public Debates and Policy Making on Migration and Integration provides a unique set of testimonies and analyses of these questions by researchers and policy experts who have been deeply involved in attempts to link social science research to public policies. Bridging the Gaps argues that we must go beyond the prevailing focus on the research-policy nexus by considering how the media, public opinion, and other dimensions of public debates can interact with research and policy-processes. The chapters provide theoretical analyses and personal assessments of the successes and failures of past efforts to link research to public debates and policy-making on migration and integration in six different countries - Germany, the Netherlands, Norway, Sweden, the United Kingdom, and the United States - as well as in European and global governance debates.
