Finding Your Ethical Research Self written by Martin Tolich and has been published by Routledge this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2021-03-30 with Philosophy categories.
Finding Your Ethical Research Self introduces novice researchers to the need for ethical reflection in practice and gives them the confidence to use their knowledge and skill when, later as researchers, they are confronted by big ethical moments in the field. The 12 chapters build on each other, but not in a linear way. Core ethical concepts like consent and confidentiality once established in the early chapters are later challenged. The new focus becomes how to address qualitative research ethics when confidentiality and consent take on a limited form. This approach helps students understand that the application of concepts always requires thoughtful adaptation in different contexts and the book provides guidance on how to do this. Classroom/workbook exercises develop alternative solutions to create process consent, internal confidentiality, and engage reference groups, as examples. The first eight chapters allow students to develop their ethical research self before thinking through how they might address formal ethics review. Formal ethics review is deliberately not introduced until Chapter 9. Chapter 10 offers practical help to elements of review, before Chapter 11 emphasises the key message by providing examples of researchers' dilemmas in the field using vignettes and discussion. By providing these examples, students become aware that these can arise, explore how they might arise, and recognise how they might deal with them in the moment when they are unavoidable. With numerous examples of ethical dilemmas and issues and questions and exercises to encourage self-reflection, this reflexive, learn-by-doing model of research ethics will be highly useful to the novice researcher, undergraduate, and postgraduate research student.

The first half of their 9-year battle with infertility included a considerable amount of depression and questioning God. A wrestle with infertility is ultimately a wrestle with God. Hope Deferred is the guidebook that enabled Jillian to rise above her circumstances with joy, peace, hope and a deeper relationship with God. What if turning to God is painful? Why is everyone else able to get pregnant so easily? Hope Deferred dives into these tough questions and more, and addresses the difficulties surrounding infertility, while offering the tools needed to have hope and peace even when circumstances are not resolved. The truths carefully presented will help heal the heart and mind of the one who is affected by infertility. Even those who are past child-bearing age will find salve to cover old wounds. With honesty and authenticity, Jillian shares the pain and trials that plagued her through infertility. This book takes a unique approach to the idea of soul care by comparing it to the concept of home. When we allow Jesus to do a transformational work in our souls to give us the feeling of home; loved, secure, nourished, accepted and healing every day. When we make it a practice to cultivate Jesus’ presence within us, we will feel at home in our inner being instead of being spiritually and emotionally “homeless”. When we cultivate the presence of Jesus and work through key soul care principles and develop a rhythm of a practices that incorporate the spiritual disciplines of feeding on God’s Word, worship and thanksgiving, listening prayer, praying scripture, and times of fasting and solitude it leads our soul home. These practices create an atmosphere that God uses to fill us with more of Himself and His ways. The more of God we have, the more He guides us to tear down walls of self-protection, find the truth of who we are in Christ, and defeat the attacks of our enemy, Satan, so that we start walking more as Jesus walked. This process brings our soul to the home where it belongs.
