Once, a long time ago, I walked down a night-darkened road called Firefly Lane, all alone, on the worst night of my life, and I found a kindred spirit. That was our beginning. More than thirty years ago. TullyandKate. You and me against the world. Best friends forever. But stories end, don't they? You lose the people you love and you have to find a way to go on. . . . Tully Hart has always been larger than life, a woman fueled by big dreams and driven by memories of a painful past. She thinks she can overcome anything until her best friend, Kate Ryan, dies. Tully tries to fulfill her deathbed promise to Kate---to be there for Kate's children---but Tully knows nothing about family or motherhood or taking care of people. Sixteen-year-old Marah Ryan is devastated by her mother's death. Her father, Johnny, strives to hold the family together, but even with his best efforts, Marah becomes unreachable in her grief. Nothing and no one seems to matter to her . . . until she falls in love with a young man who makes her smile again and leads her into his dangerous, shadowy world. Dorothy Hart---the woman who once called herself Cloud---is at the center of Tully's tragic past. She repeatedly abandoned her daughter, Tully, as a child, but now she comes back, drawn to her daughter's side at a time when Tully is most alone. At long last, Dorothy must face her darkest fear: Only by revealing the ugly secrets of her past can she hope to become the mother her daughter needs. A single, tragic choice and a middle-of-the-night phone call will bring these women together and set them on a poignant, powerful journey of redemption. Each has lost her way, and they will need each one another---and maybe a miracle---to transform their lives. An emotionally complex, heart-wrenching novel about love, motherhood, loss, and new beginnings, Fly Away reminds us that where there is life, there is hope, and where there is love, there is forgiveness. Told with her trademark powerful storytelling and illuminating prose, Kristin Hannah reveals why she is one of the most beloved writers of our day.

Aurora, the middle, is the peacemaker. Vivi Ann, the youngest, is the undisputed star of the family. Everything comes easily to Vivi Ann, her father's love most of all. An Amazon Best of the Year Selection Blue Hollow Falls may be a small Blue Ridge Mountain town, but it’s big on love—and second chances . . . When former barrel racer Cheyenne McCafferty left the circuit, she left her past behind too. Now, as part owner of Lavender Blue farm, she’s content rescuing and rehabbing horses, and growing a new business. She’s only got one regret: letting go of Wyatt Reed. When he professed his love, she was too young and foolish to know her heart. After that he disappeared. But when his beloved horse turns up on the auction block, Chey makes a bid and wins more than she bargained for . . . Chey believed she was ready to face Wyatt again, to explain herself. But seeing the man he’s become, she’s unsure. Gone is the quiet, gentle boy she knew. In his place is a rugged, confident adventurer who’s seen the world. Yet the longer Wyatt sticks around, the clearer it is that the feelings of their youth aren’t so easily dismissed now that they’re adults. In fact, the timing may be just right to make the dreams they’ve shared under a firefly moon come true . . . Once everything is set up, I roll in. Control stick hard left into a sharp left turn and let the nose drop quickly but smoothly to 40° down. Down. My heart is pumping hard. I'm in a sharp dive. I have to do it right and fast. Line up the target in the sight. It's getting bigger as I get closer to the ground. Airspeed is increasing! Quick! Right there! Pickle at 8,000 feet, only 2,000 feet from roll-in altitude. Not much time. NOW! Pull out! Pull hard, but don't over G! All the remaining ordnance is trying to pull the airplane toward the ground. Smoothly pull to four Gs. Watch the artificial horizon. It's the only visual reference I can count on. Pull! Get the nose up! Don't go below 7,000 feet because rocks can be anywhere below seven. There's level. Bring it on up. Twenty-five degrees nose high. I have plenty of speed, so keep the nose up. Here comes 8,000 feet. Then 9,000. I can let the nose down a little now and look around to see if anyone is shooting. It is 1969 and Dick Diller is on his way to flying warplanes in the Vietnam conflict. He is commissioned to fly A-1 Skyraiders in sometimes harrowing nighttime missions over Laos-surviving not only the danger of the missions he flew, but also the bureaucracy of the air force, from fitness testing to additional duties assigned, to attacking impossible-to-find targets in the dead of night-with minimal fuel supplies. At once entertaining and riveting, as well as thought-provoking, Firefly is the story of one man's journey in a world at war, and a day-to-day description of the fighting force that was flying A-1 Skyraiders in combat. Firefly contains actual transcriptions of dialogue of pilots locating a target and making a strike in northern Laos.

This volume contains books 13-15 of London Lovett's Firefly Junction Cozy Mystery series. Join Sunni Taylor, Brady 'Jax' Jackson and the Cider Ridge ghost for three cozy mysteries with fun paranormal twists. Founders’ Day Fiasco (Book 13) Firefly Junction is in the middle of a huge Founders’ Day celebration and Sunni Taylor has been assigned to cover the colorful music and float-filled parade. But when the organizer of the parade winds up dead, Sunni’s mundane assignment takes a new twist. Now, she finds herself in the middle of a murder that is complicated by the fact that the victim had more than a few enemies. Heat Wave Homicide (Book 14) A terrible heat wave has fallen over Firefly Junction and tempers are flaring. With triple digit temperatures and humidity thick enough you can cut it with a knife, a chili cook-off is the last place journalist Sunni Taylor wants to be but Prudence Mortimer, the owner of the Junction Times wants her to cover the event. When one of the competitors is stabbed to death in the parking lot the cook-off really heats up. Sunni is no longer covering recipes and pepper eating contests. She has a murder to solve, and the triple digit temperatures aren’t going to stop her. Terror at Thornbridge Hotel (Book 15) Normally, Sunni would balk at a mundane news story like the 250th anniversary of a hotel, but she’s excited to cover the event. Firefly Junction’s Thornbridge Hotel is not just any historical old relic. It is home to Thomas McRooney, a ghost who knew Edward Beckett when he was a tall, handsome Englishman riding around town on his steed. Sunni hopes to contact the otherwise elusive ghost and hear stories about Edward and the woman he loved. When the hotel’s ornery chef dies under suspicious circumstances, the celebration is cut short. Sunni once again finds herself wrapped up in a murder case. Or was it just a tragic accident? The hotel’s oldest inhabitant believes there was foul play. But how does one use the eyewitness account of a man who’s been dead for nearly two hundred years? More in the series: Chocolate Festival Felony (Book 16)
