Using data collected in the region of the[Upsilon](4S) resonance with the CLEO II detector operating at the Cornell Electron Storage Ring (CESR), they present the first observation of B mesons decaying into the charmed strange baryons[Xi][sub c][sup 0] and[Xi][sub c][sup+]. The authors find 79[+-] 27[Xi][sub c][sup 0] and 125[+-] 28[Xi][sub c][sup+] candidates from B decays, leading to product branching fractions of[Beta]([bar B][yields][Xi][sub c][sup 0]X)[Beta]([Xi][sub c][sup 0][yields][Xi][sup -][pi][sup+])= (0.144[+-] 0.048[+-] 0.021) x 10[sup -3] and[Beta]([bar B][yields][Xi][sub c][sup+]X)[Beta]([Xi][sub c][sup+][yields][Xi][sup -][pi][sup+][pi][sup+])= (0.453[+-] 0.096[sub -0.065][sup+0.085]) x 10[sup -3].

Using data collected in the region of the[Upsilon](4S) resonance with the CLEO-II detector, they report on the first observation of exclusive decays of the B meson to final states with a charmed baryon. They have measured the branching fractions[Beta](B[sup -][yields][Lambda][sub c][sup+][bar p][pi][sup -])= (0.62[sub -0.20][sup+0.23][+-] 0.11[+-] 0.10) x 10[sup -3] and[Beta]([bar B][sup 0][yields][Lambda][sub c][sup+][bar p][pi][sup+][pi][sup -])= (1.33[sub -0.42][sup+0.46][+-] 0.31[+-] 0.21) x 10[sup -3]. In addition, they report upper limits for final states of the form[bar B][yields][Lambda][sub c][sup+][bar p](n[pi]) and[Lambda][sub c][sup+][bar p](n[pi])[pi][sup 0] where (n[pi]) denotes up to four charged pions.

The SELEX experiment (E781) at Fermilab has observed two statistically compelling high mass states near 3.6 GeV/c[sup 2], decaying to[Lambda][sub c][sup+] K[sup -][pi][sup+] and[Lambda][sub c][sup+] K[sup -][pi][sup+][pi][sup+]. These final states are Cabibbo-allowed decay modes of doubly charmed baryons[Xi][sub cc][sup+] and[Xi][sub cc][sup++], respectively. The masses are in the range expected from theoretical considerations, but the spectroscopy is surprising. SELEX also has weaker preliminary evidence for a state near 3.8 GeV/c[sup 2], a high mass state decaying to[Lambda][sub c][sup+] K[sup -][pi][sup+][pi][sup+], possibly an excited[Xi][sub cc][sup++] (ccu*). Data are presented and discussed.
