Every year, Christmas comes. And every year, in tiny congregations spread throughout the world, a director is stressing over the difficult task of producing a successful children's play. Realizing that church plays are often hard to produce because so few are written to meet children's needs and interests, Timothy Ayers decided to change that. Writing his own plays for the children within his church, Ayers collected his dramas into "Five Little Christmas Dramas for Today's Kids," hoping to help small churches creatively and freely encourage children to spread the message of Christmas. With titles ranging from "A Dress Rehearsal for Christmas" to "The "I Hate Christmas" Club," each drama presents a worthy reminder: The true meaning of Christmas is always found in Christ. These fun and simple dramas let small churches celebrate Christmas without mayhem and stress, and they empower children to play a pivotal role in highlighting the divine purpose of the Christmas holiday. With minimal set design and diverse roles for children of all ages, this collection of Christmas dramas will bless directors and congregations alike. Each drama has listed the approximate length of time the play will take, how many cast members are needed, props, and the stage set-up. This book also has the copy privileges included. Timothy W. Ayers recently pastored a small church in western New York. It was his first time working with a smaller body of Christians. After planting churches and working with several larger congregations, he felt the call to minister in a completely different setting. He learned a lot about the limitations of a small congregation. Tim merged two of his past literary mediums of short plays for contemporary churches and children's literature. His short plays, "Living Parables," written to illustrate the Sunday service messages were published by CSS Publishing, and his middle reader series, " Spinechillers Mysteries." From these two loves came "Five Little Christmas Dramas for Today's Kids." It is Ayers' desire that churches around the world can tell this marvelous story of the birth of our Savior through relevant, fun, and easy-to-produce holiday plays.

Controversial yet beloved among audiences, Christmas-themed horror movies emerged in the early 1970s and gained a notorious reputation with Silent Night, Deadly Night (1984), depicting Santa as an ax-wielding maniac. Some parents and conservative groups condemned the film, while others embraced the portrayal of Yuletide as a backdrop for fear and dread. Drawing on interviews with directors, producers, special effects artists, photographers and actors, this book celebrates the sordid, colorful history of the Christmas horror subgenre. Psycho Santa films such as Christmas Evil (1980) and 3615 code Pere Noel (1989) are examined, along with "Yule-Die" slashers like The Dorm that Dripped Blood (1982), Black Christmas (1974) and Silent Night, Bloody Night (1972). Commercial successes like Gremlins (1984) and Rare Exports: A Christmas Tale (2010) are covered, as well as more recent releases such as Better Watch Out (2016), Red Christmas (2016) and Deathcember (2019). Rare photographs, promotional materials and an annotated filmography are provided.

Family Policy And The Organisation Of Childcare written by Borbála Kovács and has been published by Springer this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2018-05-16 with Social Science categories.

This book explains and theorises the ways in which family policy instruments come to shape the routine care arrangements of young children. Drawing on interviews with close to a hundred parents from very different walks of life in urban and rural Romania, the book provides a rich account of the care arrangement transitions these parents experience during their children’s first five years of life. The influence of family policies emerges as complex and uneven, affecting childcare decisions both directly and indirectly by contributing to the reproduction and legitimation of age-related hierarchies of care ideals. These cultural artefacts, reflective of both longstanding institutional legacies and recent policy innovations between 2006 and 2015, are the prism through which mothers and fathers from diverse backgrounds view and make decisions about their children’s care. This unique volume will be of interest and value to students and scholars of childcare, its organisation and family policy, specifically in post-socialist contexts.
