I thought I was okay.I mean, I went through my days just fine, pushing toward a goal I could easily achieve. I had friends that loved me, an aunt who adored me, and everything was just okay. But what I thought was okay and fine, all of that changed. The nightmares, well, they started again, throwing me into a pit I couldn't climb out of, the people at school were spreading and starting rumors faster than I could hear them myself, and I was remembering...I was remembering everything.Well, almost everything. Some things wouldn't come to mind, like why he did it. Why my father killed them, why he tried to kill me? It's not there. Nowhere near my memory. But I'm determined to find out.My name is Joey and this is my story.Joey Archembault is the typical sixteen-year old Junior. She's an overachiever by nature, in her school orchestra, and spends most of her time either doing homework or hanging with the boy next door.Well, typical wouldn't be the word most would use with her. Freak, psycho, that's more what's heard around the school. She can't help it - it's not her fault her father killed her mother, brother, and sister nine years ago. Oh, and he tried to kill her as well, he has the scars to prove it. Joey tries to move on as best she can. It's easy when she can't remember anything about that night or her life before. One day, the self-proclaimed heartthrob asks her out. She knows she should tell him no, but when that doesn't work, and he tricks her into a date by serenading her - twice - things go south, she calls her best friend Zephyr to pick her up, and she once again tries to move on. But it triggers something inside her. It unlocks a vault she never knew existed within her and she can't stop the memories or the feelings, nor can she even begin to decipher what happened to her years ago. Soon, the puzzle begins to piece together and she begins to understand what really happened that night and why she's alone. Coupled that with a blooming relationship with the boy next door and it's all a recipe for destruction.

The Search For Peace In Vietnam 1964 1968 written by Lloyd C. Gardner and has been published by Texas A&M University Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2004-12-10 with History categories.

The Search for Peace in Vietnam, 1964-1968, the newest edition in the Texas A&M University Press Series on Foreign Relations and the Presidency, is a collection of essays that analyze the Vietnam War in terms of its significance to the global arena. Under the guidance of editors Lloyd C. Gardner and Ted Gittinger, the contributors, representing both communist and capitalist backgrounds, examine whether the Vietnam War was responsible for the transformation of the international system, using a formula postulated by series editor H. W. Brands, which looks at the international system at the beginning of the war and at the end, and measuring how much of the difference in the two periods is the result of the war. Topics include Robert J. McMahon's assessment of the war's legacy to Southeast Asia; Xiaoming Zhang's analysis of Chinese involvement as an element in the Sino-Soviet rivalry; Ilya Gaiduk's account of the Soviet Indochina policy within the context of Moscow's relations with the outside world; Judith A. Klinghoffer's examination of the war's role in determining American foreign policy in the Middle East; Hiroshi Fujimoto's discussion of whether America's Cold War policy of regionalism affected Japan's economic prosperity; and other analyses by H. W. Brands, Lloyd C. Gardner, Robert K. Brigham, Frank Costigliola, Kil J. Yi, and Quang Zhai. John Prados ends the book questioning whether the Vietnam War was, in essence, just a sideshow in international relations and attempts to understand the war's place in the world and its impact on the place of the United States. The Search for Peace in Vietnam, 1964-1968 brings together a diverse group of scholars representing various viewpoints and backgrounds regarding the Vietnam War. The book breaks free from the mold of many American analyses of Vietnam, which place the war solely in the context of America's involvement and detriment, and endeavors to look further for both causes and effects. A true scholarly work, The Search for Peace in Vietnam, 1964-1968 challenges readers to think about this pivotal point in international history in a new way.

The Darker Side Of Samuel Saul And David written by G. D. Vreeland and has been published by Xulon Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2007-10 with Religion categories.

Integrity is often discussed, challenged, occasionally vindicated; but what does it look like? Sometimes the best highlight of the diamond is the velvet against which it is cast. Likewise, narrative artistry subtly depicts flaws in character and flaws in leadership. When some ancients moved from insignificant provincials to emperors in a generation, why did those of the United Monarchy of Israel only achieved the "mini-empire" (Kitchen) and varying degrees of regional influence? Dr. Vreeland maintains that how leaders respond to God's rules of engagement and how they treat people make the difference between greatness and mediocrity. Lest this book be confused with a commentary, it must be said that it can be read ad loc. However, each section is designed to be a stand-alone essay that might be read ad seriatim. Throughout, Dr. Vreeland endeavors to be personable but professional, playful but pointed, impassioned at times but always thought provoking. Dr. Vreeland received his Ph.D. from Trinity International University in Theological Studies (Old Testament) in 1994. After raising support as a missionary he served for four years at the Nairobi International School of Theology. He was then invited to be part of the faculty of Northwest Baptist Seminary. He has concluded six years there (July '07) as Associate Professor of Semitic Languages and Biblical Literature. He teaches Hebrew and English Bible and other special topics. So far as the church in America is concerned, his love is serious biblical study as related to integrity and leadership - hence this work on First Samuel and its sequel in Second Samuel. Dr. Vreeland has been married for 26 years to the love of his life, Donna - who is the finest English Bible scholar on the planet and to whom this volume is gratefully dedicated. They have 3 grown children.
