Danladi did not plan to become a drug courier, but when the opportunity came through Dorothy, he took it. Dorothy was a drug pusher and a lesbian. Danladi saw her as God sent, the kind of girl he would have loved, but there was Betty, her lover and a chronic drug addict. He would have been glad working as construction laborer if she hadnt suggested he meet Henry Okafar, a vicious drug baron who dines with government agents. There would be money coming to him if he agrees to haul drugs overseas. But the drug business is high risk. More blood had been split on drug war than most wars and millions of naira spent, but the war is continuing. Maula was a great medicine man from Hausa land. With some airport staffs and government agents colliding with Henry, Maulas talisman was seeing as an enigma. The streets of Green Town were worse hit, youth graduated from sniffing cocaine to inhaling certain solvents with hallucinogenic effect, resulting in serious physical damage and numbers of deaths. Things would have stayed that way if a foreign diplomat hadnt made a scanty comment. It was the beginning of problems for NDLEA and the police.

Book Of Fools An Intelligent Person S Guide To Fops Jackasses Morons Dolts Dunces Halfwits And Blockheads written by Terry Reed and has been published by Algora Publishing this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2013 with Humor categories.

This book presents a provocatively, outrageously assertive exposure of fools in their not infrequently bizarre manifestations, the object being to leave no halfwits behind. It explores the world of the fool from many perspectives, including Engines of Limited Cognition: Dumb Bells, Dumb Clucks and Dumb Waiters; Imprudence and Its Imbecilic Implications; Fools, Eccentrics & Sons of Momus; and Idiotic Opportunities: Putting Fools to Work. This is not to infer (or even hint) that either the author or his readership is in any demonstrable sense of the word foolish, now or at any other time. After all, no fool would write a book like this, and no fool would read it. Precisely who does read it is a discretely personal decision we leave to those gifted with more than ordinarily inquiring minds. Indeed, those who elect to come along for the ride are likely to find their minds piqued, tickled and enriched by this tour de farce. True to form, Reed illustrates Ambrose Bierce's definition of educational -- 'that which discloses to the wise and disguises from the fools their lack of understanding.' Abundantly documented, endlessly subtle, hopelessly eccentric and deadly funny, the book blends history, sociology, literature, philosophy, etymology and even theology, all with a good laugh.

When The War Is Over written by Stephen Becker and has been published by Open Road Media this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2016-01-12 with Fiction categories.

Based on real events, this gripping tale of military injustice ranks alongside The Red Badge of Courage as one of the most original and timeless Civil War novels ever published On a fine September morning in 1864, Lt. Marius Catto leads a platoon of Union army soldiers across a Kentucky meadow. A figure rises in the distance and takes aim. Catto dives to the ground, but it’s too late—the lead ball lodged in his shoulder will be his final souvenir of the war. The shooter, a barefoot teenager named Thomas Martin, claims to be a Confederate soldier, but he wears no uniform and his rifle is older than most of Catto’s men. Taken prisoner and brought back to the garrison in Cincinnati, Martin is court-martialed as a guerrilla, found guilty, and sentenced to death by firing squad. From the bare facts of a long-forgotten incident in the final days of the Civil War, author Stephen Becker has crafted an indelible portrait of the military mindset that is as true today as it was one hundred fifty years ago. The story of Thomas Martin—a sixteen-year-old orphan whose only advocate was the man he shot—is a riveting tale of courage, loyalty, and the crushing inhumanity of life during wartime.

Sounding Otherness In Early Modern Drama And Travel written by Jennifer Linhart Wood and has been published by Springer this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2019-04-23 with History categories.

Sounds are a vital dimension of transcultural encounters in the early modern period. Using the concept of the soundwave as a vibratory, uncanny, and transformative force, Jennifer Linhart Wood examines how sounds of foreign otherness are experienced and interpreted in cross-cultural interactions around the globe. Many of these same sounds are staged in the sonic laboratory of the English theater: rattles were shaken at Whitehall Palace and in Brazil; bells jingled in an English masque and in the New World; the Dallam organ resounded at Topkapı Palace in Istanbul and at King’s College, Cambridge; and the drum thundered across India and throughout London theaters. This book offers a new way to conceptualize intercultural contact by arguing that sounds of otherness enmesh bodies and objects in assemblages formed by sonic events, calibrating foreign otherness with the familiar self on the same frequency of vibration.
