For the Sake of the House is written to heighten awareness of the organizational dynamics of the church and advance new strategies to meet the demands of this century. Despite the growing urgency on today's organizations to poise themselves for sustainability, many local congregations and religious organizations continue to function as they have for decades, seemingly oblivious to the vicissitudes of life experienced by their members, those who work and live in a world that is changing at an accelerating rate. My objective is to present challenges and perspectives overlooked or ignored by many church leaders. It is organized into four parts with three streams of ideas making up the first three parts and then converging in part four to unveil the integrated whole. An introductory chapter sets the stage with a challenge to traditional perspectives of church organizational structure and leadership. Part one stresses the critical need to understand the church as an organization. Part two defines strategic leadership qualities essential to today's church. Part three addresses the significant advantages of strategic foresight. Part four deals with organizational leadership from a global perspective with local impact. You will be challenged to reevaluate conventional thinking patterns that, while confortable for us, can get in the way of our mission and distort our vision. You will be challenged to rethink leadership styles and organizational structures the Church adopted years ago. We have changed our dress, our modes of transportation, our communication tools and access to information, our music, and many other things. Now it is time to ensure the organizational models and the leadership styles we adopt do not thwart the message. For the sake of the house and the Gospel upon which it is built, we must be strategic in our leadership, wise as serpents yet harmless as doves.

A unique look inside a world of design sophistication, this volume showcases the interiors of the world's most prestigious art dealers. From New York to London, Paris to Monaco, the private residences of the greatest and most illustrious names in the art world boast some of the world's most outstanding collections. Antique masterpieces, modern chefs d'oeuvre, and contemporary creations are set against exquisite--and at times audacious--interiors exuding bold, unique style. A first of its kind, this elegant volume grants readers exclusive access to these houses and gives life to enthralling contrasts, echoes, and unexpected dialogues by juxtaposing unparalleled art collections with interiors designed by the most renowned names, such as Peter Marino, François Marcq, Jacques Grange, and Toshiko Mori. The result is a gallery of striking beauty, most of which is revealed to the public eye for the very first time and captured by photographer Jean-François Jaussaud. Demirdjian's texts guide the reader through these private spaces, while excerpts from exclusive interviews with some of the spaces' owners, such as Dominique Lévy, Brett Gorvy, Almine Rech, Barbara Gladstone, Kamel Mennour, and Axel and May Vervoordt, enrich this volume.

Beatrix Potter written by M. Daphne Kutzer and has been published by Routledge this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2013-10-11 with Literary Criticism categories.

Beatrix Potter was one of the inventors of the contemporary picture book, and her small novels published at the turn of the twentieth century are still available and popular today. Writing in Code is the first book-length study of Potter's work, and it covers the entire oeuvre, examining all facets of her work in relation to her private life. Daphne Kutzer reveals the depth of the symbolism in Potter’s work and relates this to the issues of the author's own development as an independent woman and writer, and her struggles with domesticity, Unitarianism, and the socio-political issues in late-19th and early-20th century England. Weaving the subtle themes inscribed in Potter's own stories with the concerns and temperament of the author who wrote them, Kutzer exemplifies literary criticism as it can illuminate the breadth of allusion in children's literature.
