O livro "Formação Docente Baseada em Competências: Estudos de Casos no Ensino Superior em Moçambique" tem o objetivo de preencher uma lacuna na literatura por meio de um estudo de caso que foi fundamentado por uma abordagem multidisciplinar comandada pelos campos epistemológicos da Educação e da Administração e que se estruturou em três capítulos, combinando assim uma rica abordagem teórica com uma instigante análise empírica. Na “Introdução”, são apresentados aspectos iniciais que norteiam a necessidade de realização do estudo, no caso a problematização, a justificativa e os objectivos do trabalho. Aqui, faz-se de forma detalhada e criteriosa do contexto e formulação da pergunta de estudo que norteia a definição das metodologias e todo o processo da pesquisa. Com base na pergunta de partida são definidos os objectivos do estudo e com base nisso a identificação adequada das questões de pesquisa. De seguida apresentam-se as razões e motivações para o estudo e finalmente a estrutura do livro. No capítulo 1- “Quadro Teórico e Conceptual”, faz-se a apresentação de teorias de autores de referência, investigações recentes e seus resultados, que possam contribuir directamente para enquadrar e desenvolver o trabalho de campo. São igualmente discutidos de forma detalhada os principais conceitos relacionados ao tema em estudo e consequentemente da investigação. O capítulo 2 – “Metodologias de Investigação”, este descreve de forma estratégica as metodologias e desenvolvimento do trabalho de campo para se chegar aos resultados. Identificam o tipo de estudo descrevendo sumariamente o trabalho desenvolvido. Ainda neste capítulo apresenta-se o objecto de estudo, incluindo os sujeitos participantes e caracterização do local do estudo; identificação dos instrumentos de recolha de dados e sua validação tendo em conta o quadro teórico. Indicações da forma como os dados recolhidos foram tratadas. No capítulo 3 – “Análise de Dados e Discussão dos Resultados”, aqui faz-se apresentação dos dados, interpretação e discussão dos resultados obtidos de acordo com categorizações feitas previamente no capítulo da metodologia. Aqui faz-se também a reflexão crítica, através da triangulação dos dados e resultados obtidos. Nas “Considerações Finais”, tal como a própria designação, apresentam-se as principais teses produzidas a luz da investigação realizada. O resultado e a resposta das principais questões de investigação já confrontadas com teorias testadas e contextualizadas são expostas e formuladas as recomendações para melhoria da situação identificada e formas de intervenção futuras.

Formação Continuada dos Professores no Ensino Superior: conhecimento, competências e atitudes analisa a prática docente avaliando as dificuldades encontradas pelos professores nas concepções e execuções de ações didático-científico- metodológicas e demais obstáculos, especialmente quanto às formas de argumentação e interlocução que são desenvolvidas em sala de aula, na aplicação e análise de conteúdos científicos. Faz também uma reflexão sobre competências e atitudes, tomando por base as Diretrizes Curriculares Nacionais, que constituem o documento norteador da Educação Universitária, bem como autores renomados que se dedicaram à Formação Continuada dos Professores do Ensino Superior. O ensino por competências deve ser direcionado para a integralidade do fazer educação oferecendo oportunidades aos professores de aprender a fazer e aprender a ser. Trata-se também de um estudo de múltiplos casos em um Centro Universitário no interior do Ceará que objetiva delinear um panorama da formação ética nos cursos de graduação a fim de construir conhecimento relativo às mudanças necessárias no sentido de se formar profissionais eticamente competentes. O marco conceitual foi construído na interface de diversos conceitos inter-relacionados, colaborando no delineamento de formação continuada qualitativa. Os sujeitos participantes foram os professores do núcleo docentes estruturante de sete cursos da área de saúde com quarenta horas semanais de atividades, perfazendo um total de vinte, entre eles, os devidos coordenadores. A coleta de dados foi estruturada em duas etapas: seis encontros de grupo focal e entrevistas semiestruturadas individuais. A análise de dados foi realizada por meio de análise de conteúdo baseada em Bardin (2011), pois produz sentidos e significados na diversidade da amostragem presente nessa formação continuada. Os seus principais resultados nos indicam que a maioria dos professores que participaram dos encontros de grupo focal e das entrevistas internalizou que a Formação Continuada oportuniza aos professores a reflexão sobre o caminho que percorreram; o que podem percorrer; o pensar como forma de perguntar pelos fatos; a intenção do ensino-aprendizagem; a diversidade e complexidade dos processos mentais; a gama de estratégias que o professor tem para despertar tanto em si o prazer de ensinar quanto nos alunos o prazer de aprender.
