A relação entre forma e sentido demarca um dos pontos de tensão a que mais se reportam as discussões em torno da arte e da estética. O pressuposto conceitual que alimenta e justifica essa investigação parece presumir a vigência de um dualismo ou paralelismo, em cujo estreito domínio ocorre o fenômeno artístico e comunicacional. Anteriormente, considerava-se que a experiência estética, que em geral dizia respeito à fruição da obra de arte, realizava-se segundo dois aspectos: o sensível, concernente à forma, e o inteligível, relativo ao sentido.No entanto, essa redução da experiência proporcionada pelo fenômeno estético não atende aos novos meios expressivos contemporâneos, pois está visto, nos tempos que correm, que tampouco parece coerente circunscrever o conceito de estética às categorias tradicionais e seculares com que outrora se acreditava ser possível inventariar as obras artísticas. Como campo de estudo, e não propriamente como disciplina, a estética da comunicação promove um novo empenho intelectual com intuito de abarcar e discernir as singularidades dos processos comunicacionais contemporâneos, sem contudo negligenciar a influência que neles ainda instila a concepção tradicional de arte e sem ignorar a repercussão que novos modos de se expressar manifestam na experiência prática cotidiana.Nos capítulos aqui reunidos, um objeto de estudo próprio é investigado à luz de uma estética da comunicação calcada nos mesmos objetivos: descrever e analisar os efeitos e as impressões suscitados pelos meios de comunicação característicos da cultura atual, repensando e estabelecendo sobre novas bases conceituais a relação entre forma e sentido.

This book depicts new paradigms in Hispanic linguistic, literary and cultural studies. Part I: Literary and Cultural Studies includes eight essays focusing on a new trend of cultural representation attempting to find new meaning(s). They explore a series of reflections on some of those moments – from the period that begins with the cry for independence in 1810 and that spans beyond 2010 – textually translated as new approaches of analysis on the “recollections of things to come.” The contexts examined evince critical occurrences related to periods of change toward democracy and social justice that eventually lead to “revolutionary” or “emancipating” ends, by way of artistic, textual manifestations. The predominant view in economic theory until the crisis of the '70s, argued the great enterprise was the key player in the innovation process, this was conceived as an activity that unfolded in specific areas, with clear responsibilities and predetermined objectives. This operating structure of the innovative process was functional demand model that favored the standardization of production. The innovative process was developed predominantly by firms that had a domain oligopolistic market from which they made windfall with which financed the research and development activities. In this context, the role of SMEs in the innovation process is limited to covering the portion of the market that big companies left.
