The alien Catteni invaded Earth and enslaved thousands of humans on the planet Botany, where they struggle to survive while colonizing the world for their overseers. Now that they’ve proved Botany is capable of sustaining life, Kris Bjornsen and her fellow settlers have no intention of surrendering the home they’ve created for themselves… Armed with the knowledge that the true enemy behind the Catteni is the Eosi race, Kris has begun a campaign to free Botany’s settlers by raising a rebellion among her people against their parasitic oppressors. Aided by her Catteni lover, Zainal, Kris and the colonists manage to steal warships—and discover dissidents on other Eosi-controlled worlds. If all of the subjugated races join forces, they will have an army large enough to win their freedom and their worlds. The war of liberation has begun.

Stand firm therefore and do not submit to the yoke of slavery. Gal. 5:1.Humans are similar in so many ways. One startling similarity is the desire to remain free-free from outside influences. Even as young children, many of us remember declaring ourselves independent of older siblings by reminding them that "you are not my boss"!This intriguing story portrays the early nineteenth century life of four young men and women from different parts of the world-all facing comparable threatening challenges to their liberty. Kumi and Abina are from Ghana and Willie and Magdalena are from Germany. Unfolding the fascinating circumstances that separate them and bring them together is the enchanting appeal within this epic story.

A Question Of Freedom written by William G. Thomas and has been published by Yale University Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2020-11-24 with History categories.

The story of the longest and most complex legal challenge to slavery in American history For over seventy years and five generations, the enslaved families of Prince George’s County, Maryland, filed hundreds of suits for their freedom against a powerful circle of slaveholders, taking their cause all the way to the Supreme Court. Between 1787 and 1861, these lawsuits challenged the legitimacy of slavery in American law and put slavery on trial in the nation’s capital. Piecing together evidence once dismissed in court and buried in the archives, William Thomas tells an intricate and intensely human story of the enslaved families (the Butlers, Queens, Mahoneys, and others), their lawyers (among them a young Francis Scott Key), and the slaveholders who fought to defend slavery, beginning with the Jesuit priests who held some of the largest plantations in the nation and founded a college at Georgetown. A Question of Freedom asks us to reckon with the moral problem of slavery and its legacies in the present day.
