The pages of my book tell not only of my journey, but also of the journeys of those that have crossed my path along the road of life. Each poem presented tells a unique story --stories of great pain, suffering, and disappointment; stories of magnificent joy, peace, and triumph. I ask you to pause and reflect as you read each poem, and follow the road that has led me to where I am today. Many of the poems included were written years ago and describe times that are no more. Prayer has always been a part of Jamie's life. As a child, Jamie's late Grandmother; (Dartherl Hamilton) or Granny as Jamie refers to her, taught Jamie to be consistent in her communication with God, The Father, Creator of All. "Listen here Jamie, hear me good now; since God created us and everything else, who would know better on what to do about any and every situation? Huh?" Good ole Granny, always right on time with the Spiritual encouragement. Jamie, being very observant, noticed something; what Jamie noticed was; that no matter what arisen in Granny's life, Granny seemed to never be shaken or moved by the situation or circumstance, and when Jamie asked her Granny why that was; Granny's reply was "Cuz I talked it over with "The Master, and He let me know it's gone be alright!" Then she'd just giggle. Talking it over with "The Master" was the way Jamie's Granny referred to being in prayer. So, the more Jamie prayed the more Jamie desired to pray and Jamie soon came to discover that prayer is not just about asking God to fix all the problems in your life, instead, it's more about communication. It's about cultivating, improving, and developing a close or closer relationship with He who created her. And ummm.... Oh, what a beautiful epiphany. Eventually, Jamie notices during some of her talks with "The Master", that she would often speak to God poetically. So, Jamie decided to write down and keep those poetic conversations and Jamie has now chosen to take those personal, one on one poetic prayers and share them with you.

Hello, my name is Dr. Ralph Stowe. I have written a book that I believe will be of great interest to you. Why should you even consider a book written by me. Well, let me share with you some of my credentials. I was raised in a Swedish Baptist church in Joliet, Illinois, Bethel Baptist Church. My mother ensured that I got to Sunday School every Sunday. I even received a 9-year pin for consistent attendance. At age 13 I was saved. My father was a carpenter and taught me good work ethics and the skills necessary to earn my education. My first degree was a BS in Mathematics from Illinois Institute of Technology. While there I was privileged to eat dinner in the new cafe. The motif was knotty pine with carved graffiti covering the walls. At the table at which I was eating, the wall read "Zeus Saves." I was shocked. But upon muse, realized that that is exactly what separates Christianity from all other religions. . . our God is a God of His Word! He gives us salvation we do not earn it. He tells us exactly how to communicate with Him in His Word. Since that time I have earned four doctorates and have presented, written, and authored over 50 papers and articles. I have written 3 books and hold a U. S. Patent. My early career focused upon scientific activities, learning how to investigate, evaluate, and present information without skewing the view by my beliefs. This book is written with that benefit to the reader. It is God's Word about how to communicate with Him. Every book has an intended audience. This book is no exception. It is for the Believer in Jesus Christ as the Son of God and as their Redeemer. The book is not filled with heart moving stories. It is not filled with personal examples of supernatural events. It simply presents the Word of God supporting each chapter heading. The first chapter clearly states the steps necessary to be in the intended audience for any who start to read the book and are not in the "group" intended. The book then goes on to investigate. Who are we in relationship to God? The book sites scripture to explain we are set apart by the Father when we believe and accept Jesus the Christ as our Savior, Redeemer, Lord, and Brother. He has made us free from all the power of Satan. Sixteen scriptures from 12 different books of the Bible state we are the sons of the Living God when we make Jesus the Lord of our life. There are only two families in the earth: Those who have made Jesus Lord of their lives, and those who have not. We are delivered from darkness and our identification is with the all powerful God and His Son, our brother. Every thought, word, and action gives allegiance to one or the other of the two families. We need to be careful to identify with the Righteousness of the Lord of Life. So, are you identifying with the fallen Adam in sin or with the resurrected righteousness through Jesus? Who is the High Priest over your house? From Your Lips to God's Ear answers with specific scriptures. An example of how you might pray a prayer of salvation is outlined. "What does 'Prayer' mean in God's Word?" is addressed. If we are going to pray to God, it would be wise for us to know what that really means. Tradition may or may not have it right. A look at some scholarly understanding of what the original words meant and the flavor of what the words were intended to convey is presented. The Authorized King James version of the verses in which the words are used is offered for the reader's convenience. For the rest of us, suffice it to say that prayer is a verbal communication or petition. We can praise God or say His words back to Him in a petition. Another chapter addresses Effective Prayer. There are ideas about prayer that are not scriptural. The book presents safeguards that God built into the prayer system, not to keep us out but to keep Satan from taking advantage of us.
