The fearless leader represents past presidents that any person could relate to. Mathias in the treatment facility is a compilation of all the great writers she has seen come through her door. Jeb the tattoo man was also another compilation of different people that she has encountered and she knows others can relate to his personality in people they meet, know or are. In 2009, Ms. Lillibridge moved to Laramie, Wyoming to pursue her bachelor’s degree in education with emphasis in teaching English to secondary level students. She graduated from the University of Wyoming in 2011 and landed a teaching job in a treatment facility teaching 7th to 12th graders. Grace, Grace to It! is the product of the Holy Spirit. As for the authors part, it involved years of minute, isolated revelations of the scriptures received over a lifetime of experiences, years of Bible study with other seekers of the truth as it is in Jesus, along with thousands of hours upon hours of discussion compiled into one work. It is also the personal testimony of this author. And it is the prayer of this author that it will be the same blessing to each reader that it will always be to the one who wrote it.

Remembering African Labor Migration To The Second World written by Marcia C. Schenck and has been published by Springer Nature this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2022-11-24 with History categories.

This open access book is about Mozambicans and Angolans who migrated in state-sponsored schemes to East Germany in the late 1970s and throughout the 1980s. They went to work and to be trained as a vanguard labor force for the intended African industrial revolutions. While they were there, they contributed their labor power to the East German economy. This book draws on more than 260 life history interviews and uncovers complex and contradictory experiences and transnational encounters. What emerges is a series of dualities that exist side by side in the memories of the former migrants: the state and the individual, work and consumption, integration and exclusion, loss and gain, and the past in the past and the past in the present and future. By uncovering these dualities, the book explores the lives of African migrants moving between the Third and Second worlds. Devoted to the memories of worker-trainees, this transnational study comes at a time when historians are uncovering the many varied, complicated, and important connections within the global socialist world.

How wounds from a previous generation may weigh on children and grandchildren contain much of interest. Yet if we unpack the ghostly, the eerie, and the spectral in transgenerational hauntings, if we allow for the suffering or the disturbed to forge social links, such contacts may enable breaking into reconnections and afterlives. … One only needs to think of the near epidemic of rape in South Africa to sense violent hypermasculinity erupting as madness, mediated by a history of brutal, racialised reduction. But it is also important to move beyond the brutalities and madness, to consider the individual and collective refigurations surfacing out of layers of catastrophe. Nancy Rose Hunt: Conference Keynote Address, “Beyond Trauma? Notes on a Word, a Frame, and a Diagnostic Category.” Historical Trauma and Memory: Living with the Haunting Power of the Past is based on essays presented at a conference with the same name which was held in Kigali, Rwanda in April 2019. The book gives readers front row seats as an interdisciplinary group of scholars from law, psychology, history, the arts, anthropology, theology, and philosophy address the complex matrix of the emotional legacies of historical trauma, cultural legacies, people interacting with their social and political environment, and the interplay of these factors in different post-conflict societies.

Challenging the stereotype that black people who lived under South African apartheid have no happy memories of the past, this examination into nostalgia carves out a path away from the archetypical musings. Even though apartheid itself had no virtue, the author, himself a young black man who spent his childhood under apartheid, insists that it was not a vast moral desert in the lives of those living in townships. In this deep meditation on the experiences of those who lived through apartheid, it points out that despite the poverty and crime, there was still art, literature, music, and morals that, when combined, determined the shape of black life during that era of repression.

God Means What He Says written by Dennis Stackhouse and has been published by Christian Faith Publishing, Inc. this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2020-02-26 with Religion categories.

Have you ever heard anyone ask, "Does God really mean what He says"? That sounds like a silly question, doesn't it, especially if you claim to be a Christian? But even as a Christian, have you ever thought, "Well, I know this is what God said I'm supposed to do, but it doesn't seem that He would mind if I did it my way"? If so, did you realize you may be putting your own will above God's will, that you could be defying and disobeying God's direct commands? The ultimate question is, Are you expressing obedience to God and His desires through your words, actions, and thoughts? Do His commands guide your life, causing you to flee from sinful activities and live in purity and holiness? The objective of this book and the impact it should have on each of our lives can be simply stated in the question: "Does God really mean what He says?" From the Christian perspective, we would quickly say that we do believe God means what He says. But again, does our life reflect that profession? You see, how we live our lives is an undeniable demonstration of whether or not we believe that God means what He says. Have you truly died to sin, which is an expectation God has for His followers? If not, can you truly say that you believe God means what He says? Does your life reflect a purity and holiness that is consistent with the pattern found in God's word? If not, can you truly say that you believe God means what He says? These and other related issues which are vital to all of us will be explored in this book. Most importantly, throughout the course of our study together, we will rely upon the only source of divine authority for our answers: the word of God. Once we have completed this journey, my fervent prayer is that each of us will not hesitate even one moment to answer the question, "Does God really mean what He says?" with a resounding yes! This is critical because, as we shall see, God does mean what He says.

A tribute to the visionary contributions and prophetic writings of Thomas Berry, spiritual ecologist and father of environmentalism • Contains 10 essays by eminent philosophers, thinkers, and scientists in the field of ecology and sustainability, including Matthew Fox, Joanna Macy, Duane Elgin, Sean Esbjörn-Hargens, Ervin Laszlo, and Allan Combs • Calls for a transformation of consciousness to resolve today’s global ecological and human challenges • Includes a little-known but essential essay by Thomas Berry When cultural historian and spiritual ecologist Thomas Berry, described by Newsweek magazine as “the most provocative figure among the new breed of eco-theologians,” passed away in 2009 at age 94, he left behind a dream of healing the “Earth community.” In his numerous lectures, books, and essays, Berry proclaimed himself a scholar of the earth, a “geologian,” and diligently advocated for a return to Earth-based spirituality. This anthology presents 10 essays from leading philosophers, scientists, and spiritual visionaries--including Matthew Fox, Joanna Macy, Duane Elgin, Sean Esbjörn-Hargens, Ervin Laszlo, and Allan Combs--on the genius of Berry’s work and his quest to resolve our global ecological and spiritual challenges, as well as a little-known but essential essay by Berry himself. Revealing Berry’s insights as far ahead of their time, these essays reiterate the radical nature of his ideas and the urgency of his most important conclusion: that money and technology cannot solve our problems, rather, we must reestablish the indigenous connection with universal consciousness and return to our fundamental spontaneous nature--still evident in our dreams--in order to navigate our ecological challenges successfully.
