This book paves the way for a proper understanding of current and future issues on global warming, air pollution, depletion of natural resources, cyberattacks on smart grids, amongst others, by unifying various diverse disciplines of science to focus on a sustainable green society of the future.Readers will find applications of science described through the practical use of mobilities, in this case, the electric vehicles. The book could be used to teach and study on issues of global warming through the window of electric vehicles. The first three chapters can be used for teaching applications of mechanics, quantum mechanics, thermodynamics, and fluid mechanics. Chapter 5 provides rudiments of control theory in anticipation of control theory through number theory and algebraic geometry. Chapters 6 and 7 contain aspects of climatology, global warming, and electric vehicles to green grid. This is the only such comprehensive introductory book in the market that provides the readers hints, suggestions and directions to ponder for a sustainable future through renewable sources.

To Halt Or Not To Halt That Is The Question written by Cristian S Calude and has been published by World Scientific this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2024-03-20 with Computers categories.
This is a book about the 'Halting Problem', arguably the most (in)famous computer-related problem: can an algorithm decide in finite time whether an arbitrary computer program eventually stops? This seems a dull, petty question: after all, you run the program and wait till it stops. However, what if the program does not stop in a reasonable time, a week, a year, or a decade? Can you infer that it will never stop? The answer is negative. Does this raise your interest? If not, consider these questions: Can mathematics be done by computers only? Can software testing be fully automated? Can you write an anti-virus program which never needs any updates? Can we make the Internet perfectly secure? Your guess is correct: the answer to each question is negative. The Halting Problem is 'hidden' in many subjects, from logic (is mathematics free of contradictions?), physics (is quantum randomness perfect?), to philosophy (do humans have free will, or do our brains generate our thoughts and decisions in a deterministic way?) and quantum computing (why we don't have a quantum Halting Problem?) — this book will visit each of them.Written in an informal and thought-provoking language, supported with suggestive illustrations and applications and almost free of arcane mathematics (formal arguments are relegated to particular parts dedicated to the mathematically-oriented reader), the book will stimulate the curiosity and participation of the reader interested in the consequences of the limits of computing and in various attempts to cope with them.

Start Up Nation written by Dan Senor and has been published by Hachette+ORM this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2025-05-01 with Business & Economics categories.
This New York Times bestseller explores what the world can learn from Israel's meteoric economic success. With a Foreword by Shimon Peres Start-Up Nation addresses the trillion-dollar question: How is it that Israel—a country of seven.one million, only sixty years old, surrounded by enemies, in a constant state of war since its founding, with no natural resources—produces more start-up companies than large, peaceful, and stable nations like Japan, China, India, Korea, Canada and the UK? With the savvy of foreign policy insiders, Dan Senor and Saul Singer examine the lessons of the country's adversity-driven culture, which flattens hierarchy and elevates informality—all backed up by government policies focused on innovation. In a world where economies as diverse as Ireland, Singapore and Dubai have tried to re-create the "Israel effect", there are entrepreneurial lessons well worth noting. As America reboots its own economy and can-do spirit, there's never been a better time to look at this remarkable and resilient nation for some impressive, surprising clues. "What's the business plan? Chutzpuh. Lots of it . . . The book weaves together colorful stories of Israeli technological triumphs . . . and it is marvelous." — Washington Post "A compelling case study, delivered with insightful analysis . . . an accomplishment, not simply for exposing the roots of Israel's success, but showing what the Israeli case might teach the rest of the world." — USA Today "Bracing . . . has huge relevance thinking about America's renewal." — New Republic

“I have read at least 20 books a year for the past 25 years and Small Farm Republic is absolutely one of the very best that I have ever read. . . A must-read not only for those involved in all facets of agriculture but policy makers and consumers as well.”—Gabe Brown, regenerative rancher, author of Dirt to Soil From farmer, lawyer, and political activist John Klar comes a bold, solutions-based plan for Conservatives that gets beyond the fatuous pipe dreams and social-justice platitudes of the dominant, Liberal “Green” agenda—offering a healthy way forward for everyone. While many on the Left have taken up the mantle of creating a “green” future through climate alarmism, spurious new energy sources, and technocratic control, many on the Right continue to deny imminent environmental threats while pushing for unbridled deregulation of our most destructive industrial forces. Neither approach promises a bright future. In a time of soil degradation, runaway pollution, food insecurity, and declining human health, the stakes couldn’t be higher, and yet the dominant political voices too often overlook the last best hope for our planet—supporting small, regenerative farmers. In fact, politicians on all sides continue to sell out the interests of small farmers to the devastating power of Big Ag and failed “renewable energy” incentives. It’s time for a new vision. It’s time for bold new agriculture policies that restore both ecosystems and rural communities. In Small Farm Republic, John Klar, an agrarian conservative in the mold of Wendell Berry and Joel Salatin, offers an alternative that puts small farmers, regenerative agriculture, and personal liberty at the center of an environmental revival—a message that everyone on the political spectrum needs to hear.

China Asean Environment Outlook 1 Caeo 1 written by China-ASEAN Environmental Cooperation and has been published by Springer this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2017-09-25 with Technology & Engineering categories.
This book presents a comprehensive analysis of the status and progress of China-ASEAN green development and examines the common development issues in China and ASEAN Member States (AMSs). It also explores development trends within the framework of global and regional environmental governance and discusses the approaches towards green development in China and AMSs, offering its own definition of green development and using a “pressure-state-response” (PSR) model to build a framework for assessing green development. The book includes typical policy measures and numerous practices for green development in China and AMSs in the form of tables, figures and boxes. Based on detailed analysis, it argues that the global 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development brings significant opportunities to China and AMSs, that the ongoing pragmatic cooperation should be further advanced, and that a connection between the Belt and Road Initiative and green ASEAN Community should be established to achieve regional sustainable development. As such it furthers readers’ understanding of environment and development and practical policy advice for promoting China-ASEAN cooperation on environment and green development. Intended for decision makers from the government, business sector, and civil societies who are working to boost green development and China-ASEAN cooperation, it is also a valuable resource for government officials, researchers and non-experts interested in creating a balanced relationship between the environment and development.

From Africa to Asia and Latin America, the era of climate wars has begun. Extreme weather is breeding banditry, humanitarian crisis, and state failure. In Tropic of Chaos, investigative journalist Christian Parenti travels along the front lines of this gathering catastrophe--the belt of economically and politically battered postcolonial nations and war zones girding the planet's midlatitudes. Here he finds failed states amid climatic disasters. But he also reveals the unsettling presence of Western military forces and explains how they see an opportunity in the crisis to prepare for open-ended global counterinsurgency. Parenti argues that this incipient "climate fascism" -- a political hardening of wealthy states-- is bound to fail. The struggling states of the developing world cannot be allowed to collapse, as they will take other nations down as well. Instead, we must work to meet the challenge of climate-driven violence with a very different set of sustainable economic and development policies.
