Let me start by saying, "I know you love your kids and I love mine too. Now that the small talk is out of the way, let the MF conversation begin. Let's talk about these got damn kids. No, not the little ones, whose brains aren't fully developed, so you can understand why they do and say some of the things that they do. Naw baby, this long overdue conversation is about these grown ass kids, who have no excuse whatsoever for doing and saying half of the backwards, disrespectful ass shit that they do. Haven't you noticed that no matter what you do for them, it's never enough? They are never satisfied. I'm just gone come right out and say, what you and no doubt countless other parents of grown ass, ungrateful, condescending, unappreciative, entitled disrespectful kids have been wanting to say, "FUCK THEM KIDS!" They're walking around with a chip on their shoulder, mad at you and mad at the world. And for what? Because their life didn't turn out the way they wanted it to. Well news flash, join the damn club. Yes, I expect my book to ruffle some feathers, cause some tidal waves in the MF ocean, get some blood boiling and pop a few veins in some foreheads. Yes it's gone have some grown ass kids all in their feelings and mad, but so GOT DAMN WHAT! They walking round ruffling feathers, causing MF ripples in the ocean by interrupting your quiet tranquil moments with their attitudes and BULLSHIT! Causing your jugular veins to distend and our pressure to rising by stressing us the hell out. It's time we flip the damn script. If your kids don't have enough sense to see how easy and comfortable you've made life for them, then FUCK'EM. If your kids know how you've sacrificed and gone without so they never had to and still have the audacity to be disrespectful, then FUCK'EM. If your grown ass kids don't show appreciation for all that you do, then stop doing for them. It's time to disrupt their comfort. Excuse me if they're a bit uncomfortable with someone finally telling them about themselves and calling them out on their shit and seeing it in black and white. The days of lazy, ungrateful, disrespectful grown ass kids being COMFORTABLE are OVER! Enough is enough! Somethings got to give and as a parent, aren't you tired of it always being you? It's time we as parents put ourselves first and make ourselves a priority and if our grown ass kids can't get with that, then all I have to say is, "FUCK THEM KIDS and l let the MOVEMENT begin!!"

#1 New York Times Bestseller Over 10 million copies sold In this generation-defining self-help guide, a superstar blogger cuts through the crap to show us how to stop trying to be "positive" all the time so that we can truly become better, happier people. For decades, we’ve been told that positive thinking is the key to a happy, rich life. "F**k positivity," Mark Manson says. "Let’s be honest, shit is f**ked and we have to live with it." In his wildly popular Internet blog, Manson doesn’t sugarcoat or equivocate. He tells it like it is—a dose of raw, refreshing, honest truth that is sorely lacking today. The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F**k is his antidote to the coddling, let’s-all-feel-good mindset that has infected American society and spoiled a generation, rewarding them with gold medals just for showing up. Manson makes the argument, backed both by academic research and well-timed poop jokes, that improving our lives hinges not on our ability to turn lemons into lemonade, but on learning to stomach lemons better. Human beings are flawed and limited—"not everybody can be extraordinary, there are winners and losers in society, and some of it is not fair or your fault." Manson advises us to get to know our limitations and accept them. Once we embrace our fears, faults, and uncertainties, once we stop running and avoiding and start confronting painful truths, we can begin to find the courage, perseverance, honesty, responsibility, curiosity, and forgiveness we seek. There are only so many things we can give a f**k about so we need to figure out which ones really matter, Manson makes clear. While money is nice, caring about what you do with your life is better, because true wealth is about experience. A much-needed grab-you-by-the-shoulders-and-look-you-in-the-eye moment of real-talk, filled with entertaining stories and profane, ruthless humor, The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F**k is a refreshing slap for a generation to help them lead contented, grounded lives.

Based on the true story of the rounding up of a group of Sicilian gay men in 1939, this book is sure to appeal to readers of the Elena Ferrante novels, Anthony Doerr's ALL THE LIGHT WE CANNOT SEE or Virginia Baily's EARLY ONE MORNING. 'A fascinating debut...the setting and characters are strong and the story is written with verve. Day is a talent to watch' - The Times Francesco has a memory of his father from early childhood, a night when life for his family changed. From that night, he has vowed to protect his mother and to follow the words of his father: Non mollare. Never give up. As Francesco is herded into a camp on the island of San Domino, he realises that someone must have handed a list of names to the fascist police. Locked in spartan dormitories, resentment and bitterness between the men grows each day. Elena, an illiterate island girl, is drawn to the handsome Francesco. Sometimes, she is given a message to pass on. She's not sure who they are from; she knows simply that Francesco is hiding something. When Elena discovers the truth about the group of prisoners, the fine line between love and hate pulls her towards an act that can only have terrible consequences for all.

The Other Glass Teat written by Harlan Ellison and has been published by Open Road Media this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2014-04-01 with Social Science categories.

The late, multi-award-winning author of The Glass Teat continues his critical assault on television in this second collection of classic criticism. In the late 1960s and early 1970s, there were only three major television networks broadcasting original programs and news. And there was only one Harlan Ellison taking them all to task in a series of weekly essays he wrote for the countercultural, underground newspaper, the Los Angeles Free Press, a.k.a. “The Freep.” For nearly four years, he channel surfed through the mire of ABC, CBS, and NBC, finding little of value but much to critique. No one offered a more astute analysis of the idiot box’s influence on American culture, or its effects on the intelligence and psyche of viewers. The Other Glass Teat: Further Essays of Opinion on the Subject of Television collects Ellison’s final fifty columns, presenting his thoughts on everything from dramas and sitcoms to game shows and roundtable discussions, unleashing his fury against sponsors, the nightly news, and the broadcasts of President Nixon—warning readers about the commander-in-chief’s war against the media long before the Watergate scandal broke. As television has evolved into wireless streaming services and digital interactions on portable devices, Ellison’s timeless rage against the machine has become prophecy. His plea to unplug is an even more necessary call to action in the face of the twenty-first century’s media onslaught. Thought Against Tomorrow written by Jo Walton and has been published by Jo Walton this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2021-01-09 with Poetry categories.

Here is a small part of my soul I pulled out and shaped like this It is still bleeding, but only a little It won't mess your hands much, And you can wash them after. For years Hugo and Nebula award winning writer Jo Walton has been writing poems and posting them online, first on usenet, then on livejournal, more recently on Patreon. Some have been collected in chapbooks and in Starlings, but most of them have just stayed online. Here at last is a comprehensive collection of her poems from 1996-2020 with table of contents and an index of first lines, and arranged in thematic categories, Love Pain and Death, New Myths For Old Gold, Red As Blood, By Their Spaceships Ye Shall Know Them, Shakespeare, The News, The Turning Year, and Whimsy. Some of the poems are fantastical, others are about everyday life, or politics. If there's one thing that links Walton's very different work it's the quality of "where did that come from?" Here we have a poem about lions becoming extinct after being persecuted by martyrs, one about Henry V's conquest of Constantinople, alongside one about a skydiver friend who died and fell up into the sky. These poems, written over decades, are quirky, unpredictable, and have excellent scansion.

Young Muslim And Criminal written by Qasim, Mohammed and has been published by Policy Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2018-01-24 with Social Science categories.

In recent years there has been significant negative attention towards young British male Muslims, who are perceived to be increasingly dangerous and criminal. However, very little is known about those who offend, as few studies have attempted to understand their lived experience. After spending four years with a group of young British Pakistani Muslim men who were involved in a range of offending behaviours, Qasim gained unique first-hand insight into their multifaceted lives. In this book he unwraps their lives, taking into account their socio-economic situation, the make-up of their community, cultural and religious influences which impacted on them and their involvement in crime. He explores their identities and explains what role, if any, religion and Pakistani culture play in their criminal behaviour. With a focus on the apparent link with gun crime and drug dealing, this important book exposes the complex nature of the young men’s pathways into crime.
