La traduzione del trattato "Reconditorium ac reclusorium ...CHYMICA VANNUS...", che comprende "Commentatio de Pharmaco Catholico" è stata ispirata da quella di un secolo precedente, effettuata da Gerolamo Moggia e Vincenzo (in arte "Vinci") Verginelli negli anni 1921-5, che rimase manoscritta. Quest'opera, per tre-quarti di Autore anonimo (probabilmente Thomas Vaughan, Gran Maestro della Rosa+Croce del Seicento), fu pubblicata nel 1666", è una pietra miliare nella storia della ricerca ermetica del "lapis philosophorum" e avvince per la profonda spiritualità dell'insegnamento rosacrociano,nonché per la ricchezza di citazioni mitologiche e riferimenti storici, e per la complessità dello stile prosastico-poetico. L'ultimo quarto dell'opera è un trattato puramente alchemico, "Commentatio de Pharmaco Catholico", scritto in tedesco da Johan de Monte-Snyder e tradotto dallo stesso Autore di "Chymica vannus" in latino: qui emerge la "danza" dei "metalli", che devono trasmutarsi in "oro", attraverso le sette operazioni ermetiche, che conducono al compimento della "Grande Opera".
