Women in ministry face needs that are often overlooked by the local church and consequently remain underdeveloped as they seek to lead and guide those in their care. The need to shape emotions to guard and fulfill God’s purpose and the need to bond in order to build a community of authentic, lasting friendships are distinctively feminine and foundational to a successful ministry. As the founder of Inspire Women, Anita Carman is uniquely qualified to offer practical, biblical training and resources to support leaders, and those thinking about leading, on the front lines in our churches. Transforming Leaders covers the three primary emotions, loneliness, rejection, and fear; a leader must overcome to maximize her impact while providing a personalized curriculum to knit the hearts of those she serves.

What is God calling you to do? Christ called His followers to take the gospel to the ends of the earth. Simple enough, right? But not everyone can go to the ends of the earth, or we’d be abandoning the lost here at home. So, how are people supposed to determine whether they should stay or go, whether or not they’ve received “the call”? This updated edition of The Missionary Call explores the biblical, historical, and practical aspects of discerning and fulfilling God's call to serve as a missionary. Using Scripture and lessons from actual missionaries, Dr. Sills cuts through the prevailing confusion to offer much needed biblical wisdom and clarity. This volume also includes pertinent new content on: how business professionals overseas can participate in missions the advantages and disadvantages of using technology to do missions work long-distance how globalization and urbanization are changing missions today the pros and cons of short-term mission trips and how to do them effectively and more!

This book shows how church members and leaders, pastors, and personnel committees can work together to fulfill God's mission for their church. It answers key questions such as: How can we better understand and support our pastor's call to ministry, as well as his or her personal, spiritual, and professional needs? How can we work together to create a global strategy for our mission? How can we transform our often boring church committees into vital communities of faith? How can we deal with "clergy killers" and troublemakers who constantly disrupt our church? Also, churches seeking a new pastor will find this book an invaluable resource to guide their search committees as they study their task. Personnel committees will find it helpful as they evaluate the performance of their pastor in a constructive and non-threatening way. Any church member will find the book a helpful tool in understanding and working with their pastor. Pastors themselves will profit from reflecting on their own experiences in ministry. Each chapter features "Talking Points" that provide discussion material for church members and pastors to deepen and enrich their understanding of the particular subject. Written by a pastor who served five southeastern churches and who also taught ministry in a theological seminary for sixteen years, this book is anchored in his pastoral experience and theological reflection. Thus the author promotes a much better understanding of the life and work of a pastor even while it strives to cultivate a church member's discipleship. Through the entire book runs the recurring theme that pastor and members are partnering to carry out God's mission in their community and to the uttermost parts of the earth. As a result they will more likely renew their commitment to this task.

Academic Paper from the year 2020 in the subject Theology - Systematic Theology, grade: 4.0, , course: Report to the Board of Trustees, language: English, abstract: A monograph by Dr. Michael A. Milton on the Biblical- theological support for partnerships to fulfill the mission of God in the world. The author notes the New Testament Greek word used by Saint Pail to describe coalitions for good is a derivative of the Greek root "koinonia," i.e., "fellowship." The author urges that partnerships are anthropomorphic extensions of the eternal triune Godhead. The author contends for three categories of partnerships: denominational partnerships, evangelical partnerships, and common grace partnerships. Each type of coalition is described. The third of the classes, "common grace," is compared to the late Francis Schaeffer’s "Co-belligerents." The monograph closes with the principle operating commitment of the prospective parties of a partnership: "cooperation without compromise." The author cited a historical example of common grace partnerships in the ministry of the Right Reverend Dr. Benjamin Morgan Palmer (1818-1902), pastor of First Presbyterian Church of New Orleans. The monograph includes a bibliography on the subject.
