This book consists of three main parts: fundamental theory, design principles and methodology, and potential materials that can be applied to EM wave absorbers. In the theory part, this book provides the basics of electromagnetism, circuit and transmission line theory, EM wave propagation and reflection, and complex permittivity and permeability by electric polarization and magnetization of materials. In the design part, design methods are explained for various types of EM wave absorbers based on equivalent circuit models and simulation technologies. Starting from the traditional resonance-type absorber, this book reviews the latest metamaterial and frequency selection surface (FSS) absorbers with more advanced design techniques. Recent research results are also included associated with how to design the ultrawide-bandwidth absorbers through multilayering FSSs or shape-control of lossy materials. In the materials section, various lossy materials are reviewed that can be used as EM wave absorbers, including conductive materials, magnetic materials, dielectric materials, core-shell materials, fiber-reinforced composite materials, and metamaterials or metasurfaces. Literature reviews on their electromagnetic properties and EM wave absorption performance are also presented. Finally, the methods and principles for measuring the high-frequency properties (complex permittivity and permeability) and EM wave absorption are described.

Dielectric Spectroscopy Of Electronic Materials written by Yuriy Poplavko and has been published by Woodhead Publishing this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2021-07-06 with Technology & Engineering categories.

Dielectric Spectroscopy of Electronic Materials: Applied Physics of Dielectrics incorporates the results of four decades of research and applications of dielectric spectroscopy for solids, mostly for the investigation of materials used in electronics. The book differs from others by more detailed analysis of the features of dielectric spectra conditioned by specific mechanisms of electrical polarization and conductivity. Some original methods are presented in the simulation of frequency distributions (relaxers and oscillators), with methods proposed for various ferroelectrics frequency-temperature dielectric spectra. Also described are original methods for ferroelectrics on microwaves investigation, including the features of thin films study. The book is not burdened by complex mathematical proofs and should help readers quickly understand how to apply dielectric spectroscopy methods to their own research problems. More advanced readers may also find this book valuable as a review of the key concepts and latest advances on the topics presented. - Introduces critical material characterization techniques by an expert with more than 40 years of experience in dielectric spectroscopy - Reviews advances in dielectric spectroscopy methods to enable advances such as the miniaturization of electronics at the nanoscale - Provides an overview of polarization mechanisms utilizing different models (i.e., oscillator and relaxation)

With the phenomenal development of electromagnetic wave communication devices and stealth technology, electromagnetic wave absorbing materials have been attracting attention as antielectromagnetic interference slabs, stealth materials, self-concealing technology, and microwave darkrooms. This book starts with the fundamental theory of electromagnetic wave absorption in loss medium space, followed by a discussion of different microwave absorbents, such as manganese dioxide, iron-based composite powder, conductive polyaniline, barium titanate powder, and manganese nitride. Then, structural absorbing materials are explored, including multilayer materials, new discrete absorbers, microwave absorption coatings, cement-based materials, and structural pyramid materials. Many of the graphics demonstrate not only the principles of physics and experimental results but also the methodology of computing. The book will be useful for graduate students of materials science and engineering, physics, chemistry, and electrical and electronic engineering; researchers in the fields of electromagnetic functional materials and nanoscience; and engineers in the fields of electromagnetic compatibility and stealth design.
