This book aims at presenting the field of Quantum Information Theory in an intuitive, didactic and self-contained way, taking into account several multidisciplinary aspects. Therefore, this books is particularly suited to students and researchers willing to grasp fundamental concepts in Quantum Computation and Quantum Information areas. The field of Quantum Information Theory has increased significantly over the last three decades. Many results from classical information theory were translated and extended to a scenario where quantum effects become important. Most of the results in this area allows for an asymptotically small probability of error to represent and transmit information efficiently. Claude E.Shannon was the first scientist to realize that error-free classical information transmission can be accomplished under certain conditions. More recently, the concept of error-free classical communication was translated to the quantum context. The so-called Quantum Zero-Error Information Theory completes and extends the Shannon Zero-Error Information Theory.

A comprehensive introduction to CDMA theory and application Code division multiple access (CDMA) communication is rapidly replacing time- and frequency-division methods as the cornerstone of wireless communication and mobile radio. Theory of Code Division Multiple Access Communication provides a lucid introduction and overview of CDMA concepts and methods for both the professional and the advanced student. Emphasizing the role CDMA has played in the development of wireless communication and cellular mobile radio systems, the author leads you through the basic concepts of mobile radio systems and considers the different principles of multiple access-time division, frequency division, and code division. He then analyzes three major CDMA systems-direct sequence (DS) CDMA systems, frequency hopped (FH) CDMA systems, and pulse position hopped (PPH) CDMA systems. Other topics covered include: * Spread spectrum (SS) technology * Forward error control coding * CDMA communication on fading channels * Pseudorandom signals * Information theory in relation to CDMA communication * CDMA cellular networks Complete with useful appendices providing analyses of the moments of CDMA system decision statistics, Theory of Code Division Multiple Access Communication is a ready reference for every engineer seeking an understanding of the history and concepts of this key communications technology.

Inhaltsangabe:Abstract: We are facing an increasing bandwidth in the mobile systems and this opens up for new applications in a mobile terminal. It will be possible to download, record, send and receive images and videosequences. Even if we have more bandwidth, images and video data must be compressed before it can be sent, because of the amount of information it contains. MPEG-4 and H.263 are standards for compression of video data. The problem is that encoding and decoding algorithms are computationally intensive and complexity increases with the size of the video. In mobile applications, processing capabilities such as memory space and calculation time are limited and optimized algorithms for decoding and encoding are necessary. The question is if it is possible to encode raw video data with low complexity. Single frames e.g. from a digital camera, can then be coded and transmitted as a video sequence. On the other hand, the decoder needs to be able to handle sequences with different resolution. Thus, decoder in new mobile terminals must decode higher resolution sequences with the same complexity as low resolution video requires. The work will involve literature studies of MPEG-4 and H.263. The goal is to investigate the possibility to encode video data with low complexity and to find a way for optimized downscaling of larger sequences in a decoder. The work should include - Literature studies of MPEG-4 and H.263. - Theoretical study how CIF sequences (352x288-pixel) can be downscaled to QCIF (176x144-pixel) size. - Finding of optimized algorithms for a low complexity encoder. - Implementation of such an encoder in a microprocessor, e.g. a DSP. - Complexity analysis of processing consumption. Prerequisite experience is fair C-programming, signalprocessing skills and basic knowledge in H.263 and MPEG-4 is useful. New mobile communication standards provide an increased bandwidth, which opens up for many new media applications and services in future mobile phones. Video recording using the MMS standard, video conferencing and downloading of movies from the Internet are some of those applications. Even if the data rate is high, video data needs to be compressed using international video compression standards such as MPEG-4 or H.263. Efficient video compression algorithms are the focus of this thesis. Very limited computational capabilities of the terminals require low complexity encoder and decoder. A low complexity encoder for usage with [...]

Physical Layer Security And Quantum Key Distribution written by Ivan B. Djordjevic and has been published by Springer Nature this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2019-09-14 with Computers categories.
This textbook integrates the most advanced topics of physical-layer security, cryptography, covert/stealth communications, quantum key distribution (QKD), and cyber security to tackle complex security issues. After introducing the reader to various concepts and practices, the author addresses how these can work together to target problems, rather than treating them as separate disciplines. This book offers students an in-depth exposition on: cryptography, information-theoretic approach to cryptography, physical-layer security, covert/stealth/low-probability of detection communications, quantum information theory, QKD, and cyber security; to mention few. The goal is to provide a unified description of the most advanced topics related to: (i) modern cryptography, (ii) physical-layer security, (iii) QKD, (iv) covert communications, and (v) cyber security. Each chapter is followed by a set of problems. Also, for readers to better understand the book, an appendix covers all needed background. Homework problems and lecture notes are available online. The book does not require any prior knowledge or prerequisite material.
